It was abraham and Isaac btw.

A hateful sadistic evil God is the god that does that. And Satan is the bad guy in this story?

A God who stopped him before he could and provided a lamb in the thicket instead.

Also note that his son went willingly. Just as Jesus went willingly to the cross.

This event was not only a test of Abraham's faith, but it was a prophetic event of what was to come through Jesus, the Son of God being offered as the once and for all atonement (Sacrifice) for all man's sins if we would only believe according to John 3:16

Additional Notes: Well now, since you are so dead set against following the commandments of God and don't trust that His will is what is best, then I suppose all of mankind is very thankful that God chose Abraham to this task and not you. That is one thing you can thank God for, now isn't it?

I think what you are speaking of was the story in the Bible about Abraham being asked to sacrifice his son Issac. If you knew the story, you would see that God did not allow Abraham to fulfill that request but instead stopped him. It was a test of faith and a willingness to give up anything to follow God. Object lesson. We must put God above all things.

A heathen god.At the time that Abraham was asked by God to sacrifice Isaac the heathens were already doing this. But the true God the One who Abraham served stopped him before he could do it.Proving that Abraham was faithful as well as telling the heathens that He was a God who wanted their children to live.He offers life today for those who will except Him.
If you really mean what you say then you need to tell the devil to .,;,/,;,,,;' himself and start serving God.Its the devil who wants to kill your child and not God.

If you're gonna argue a point, please get your facts straight. God told Abraham to kill Isaac as a test of Faith, to see if he would follow God's will. Once God saw that Abraham was willing to follow God's command He did not allow Abraham to go through with it.

You're talking about Abraham and Isaac. God tested Abraham and he passed the test.
Read Genesis 22 and you will know that.

That's one god I would try to avoid if anything. Last thing I need is to be falsely lead to believe I was going to kill a sheep with my parent and then BAM! Tied down to something with a knife in my parent's hand ready to kill me and had it not been for an angel to tell my parent to not kill me I would have been dead. Thanks for the offer but I will have to pass. And if I was the parent in that situation fook it I would tell myself to never listen to a voice don't care if it had a face to it. Or better yet question before I do such a cruel act upon my own child.

Don't think Abraham passed for the fact the voice sounded just like "god" and all but if he had known his god well enough that his god wouldn't tell him to do such a thing in the first place.
