You know what!! ....................... religion is something comes from ur heart. Bieng generous, bieng kind. When u see someone need anything, u just give him what he wants, That's coming from ur heart. When u see old people who don't have children to take care of them, u just feel pitty 4 them and u would love to do anything to help them, that's also coming from ur heart. So that's what religion have in common, our heart.

Rules of conduct? Some religions claim that suicide gets you God's wrath. Others say that suicide when it furthers their own agenda, gets you God's reward. Don't you wish that God could straighten out the mess with the religions? What do they have in common? They all rely on our financial support as God won't give them a dime.

The core of every religion in the world is essentially this one simple teaching/understanding/concept:
"Treat other people the way you want them to treat you."
This is expressed differently in the various religions and each religion explains different reasons. For example Christians are told it as a commandment by Jesus. Hindus are told to strive to see God in everyone and everything and to then treat everyone and everything with the same respect and honor that they do God.
This one simple concept/teaching/understanding leads religions to want to help others....the poor, the hungry, the unloved and forgotten...as well as to help people better themselves (build schools, health clinics, etc).
Sadly, though, this simple idea of seeing ourselves in others and treating others the way we ourselves want to be treated is not always applied. It's as if we think we can pick and choose when we can....thus when it's inconvenient many people focus on their own egos rather than expanding their awareness to everyone. If we actually followed this simple idea we wouldn't fight wars, but instead would strive for mutual understanding. We'd actually and genuinely care for others as much as we care about ourselves. Our ancestors who were spiritual mentors and leaders realized this principle/idea and shared it with us and even today many genuine spiritual mentors and leaders still do. They do not seek power or money or fame, the seek to help us find inner peace and to challenge us to actually fulfill this principle in our own lives. To love beyond just ourselves....to empathize with others....to desire mutual understanding with others. And yet we still have not fully done this. Some have and we often call them "great saints" or "great heroes" or they become icons in spiritual/religious circles....but many of us do not think we, too, can be like them. But the fact that some do actually fully understand and integrate the principle into their life is proof that we all can. We can all treat others the way we ourselves desire to be treated. And by doing so we would be fulfilling the core principle that dwells at the heart of all the world's religions.

The one concept in all religions is an injuction against incest.

However, how do you define that?

The Torah, Tanakh, OT, and NT allow first cousin marriages.....

But the Majority of the USA does not...Seems the Pagan Indians had higher standards than those who followed The Tanakh, OT or NT...

I have studied a lot of religions and they all share a common thread that you may know as the Golden Rule. I seen - Do unto others as you would have them do unto yourself, Plant rice and rice will grow, What goes around - comes around, If you stand straight - your shadow will be straight, When you speak using sweet words - your echo reflects sweet words, and a lot more of them.

No religion is exactly the same. They all vary in some sort or another.

I guess the only thing every religion has in common is the simple belief in something.

The one thing that ALL religions have in common is that they are systems of Beliefs; not the same Beliefs, but Beliefs nevertheless.

The one thing that ALL religions lack in common is Truth.

According to my World Religions class, for something to qualify as a "religion" it must attempt to answer three things: where we come from, how to live now, and where we're going.

The definition of religion is "the voluntary submission to God". So this is what they all have in common.
