Would a Jehovah's Witness be adviced by someone who belongs to another denomination to preach the good news, to attend meetings at the Kingdom Hall, to study the Bible regularly, to have high moral standards? It's hard to believe.

"If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news!" -- 1 Corinthians 9:16

"Let us hold fast the public declaration of our hope without wavering, for he is faithful that promised. And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near." -- Hebrews 10:23-25

"And these words that I am commanding you today must prove to be on your heart; and you must inculcate them in your son and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. " -- Deuteronomy 6:6,7

"What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God." -- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Jehovah's Witnesses don't isolate themselves. They interact with other people. A proof is that they go from door-to-door. But they are aware that not all associations are beneficial. They tie close relationships with those who have the same beliefs and goals (those who sincerely serve Jehovah). It is their own choice. No one is forcing them to do so.

"Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits." -- 1 Corinthians 15:33

"Adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God." -- James 4:4

"Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever." -- 1 John 2:15-17

If a gang were to tell you that they knew how to get plenty of money without a lot of work, would you go with them? “Do not go in the way with them. Hold back your foot from their roadway. For their feet are those that run to sheer badness, and they keep hastening to shed blood.” (Prov. 1:10-19) If a person is not a worshiper of Jehovah, but he does seem to be really nice, would you view him as a suitable friend? Shechem was the son of a Caananite chieftain, and the Bible says he was the “most honorable of the whole house of his father,” but he “took [Dinah] and lay down with her and violated her.” Should the fact that other people may not believe the truths you have learned from God’s Word make a difference to you? “Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.” (1 Cor. 15:33) How would Jehovah feel if you chose as your friends those who do not love him? To a king of Judah who did that, Jehovah’s spokesman said: “For this there is indignation against you from the person of Jehovah.”

It is not that we are not 'allowed' to associate with persons outside of our faith.Through study of God's word however, our standards and values are generally much higher than most peoples and as a result we have little in common with non Witnesses.
Also the Bible warns against associating with those that could have a negative influence.(1Cor.15:33)It takes effort to maintain a clean standing before God and yet it can be so quickly tarnished.
We very much value our relationship with our Heavenly Father and guard it as something precious.

very true we do have something you dont know, but we associate with those on the outside, how else can we tell others of the good news, plus we all have families and for most of us our familes are not in the religion alongside us. In the bible book of john jesus said that we are no part of this world just as he was no part of the world, does not mean we dont associate just means we dont follow worldly trends and celebrations.

Well you were told incorrectly. I associate with my inlaws. I associate with my neighbor. None of them are fellow Witnesses. Probably the person who told you this was confused. There are Bible principles about limiting association with unbelievers. That is to say, if we are going to decide to spend a large amount of our time, shouldn't it be with someone who will be upbuilding?

What you were told is obviously wrong. Otherwise we would have to withdraw from life. We wouldn't be able to follow Jesus' command to preach. We wouldn't be able to go to work to support our families.

Such generalizations are usually FALSE!

This "questioner" was apparently "told" incorrectly.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that each individual and family decides for himself and his family regarding with whom they will associate.
