Ok. I've had some problems in the past few weeks. I got some fillings done March 27th. I had sensitivity, but no pains associated with the two teeth that received fillings. Until May 7th. I woke up in the morning and was eating a bowl of cereal, and the crunching sent a pain in what I thought was one of the filled teeth.
I made a dentist appointment for the following Friday, and she couldn't find anything wrong. She did an examination, x-ray, tap test and even flossed. Nothing. No signs of an infection, crack or bubble.
So now, it's been weeks later and I'm still having problems. I thought at first it was one tooth, but it turns out to be both that she filled. (They are righ next to eachother) I did a bite test and I get the exact same pain from both teeth.

I'm at my wits end with this.
Could she have fudged up?

I don't think she fudged up. However, your fillings might be high. She might need to check the bite again and reduce the fillings.

You didn't say if they decay in the teeth was deep. If so, this pain you feel could be a sign that the nerve has been affected by the bacteria that was in the decay, already getting into the pulp chamber. If the pain intensifies or doesn't seem to improve daily after she checks your bite, a root canal may be the only option. But even if it is, from everything you said, I still don't think she fudged.

I'm not the only one suffering from this!! I thought I was going crazy there for a while. I had fillings done in March and I am having the same problems. I have been back to my dentist twice and they have no answer for me as of yet. They too have taken x-rays and can find no problems. i have had my bite adjusted and that didn't fix it. As a matter of fact, it made it worse. Now I have 2 teeth that hurt where before it was only one!! I am going back tomorrow to follow up from the bite adjustment. I'm giving them one more chance to fix it before I go somewhere else. I'll let you know if I get any new info. I just thought I'd let you know that you're not the only one dealing with this. It's really frustrating!!

You didn't specify the type of restoration that you have done but I am going to assume that they are the white bonded fillings. These type of fillings are extremely technique sensitive and if not done exactly they will cause pain similar to what you are experiencing. Usually, they need to be redone to correct the problem. You may need to see another dentist if your present one does not want to redo these. There are also a number of ways of bonding the filling and some of the ways seem to cause more problems like you are having than others. PS>>>>If you see a new Dr. go to one that doesn't have big ads.

It could be that the fillings are a little bit high even a fraction of a millimeter will effect you, go back and ask her to check the bite with articulating paper

Definitly get a second opinion,it kind of sounds like a root canal.Your nerves could be extra sensitive right now and for awhile.

Sounds as if the nerves are exposed. See another dentist for a second opinion.
