Hi i'm out most of my savings because of some scam artist got to me. I have a spasm in my chest that may be heart related but the doctors can't figure it out. Now I can't get the universe to pay me back. Plus i'm an atheist who i only believe in myself as a multidentional being who will be rewarded after death regardless of how i die, since I'll be going to a realm where there's no pain or suffering. Yet people have the nerve to tell me i'll ethier rot in hell or come back to the same miserable world until I get it right. Yet what about those Iraqis who believe that they'll go straight to paradise if they blow themselves up on a bus full of people who don't follow their religion?

Well, the universe might not pay you back. Sometimes it can be a deadbeat like that.

I don't want to be trite. You're talking about something very serious. I think, one atheist to another, you should wait a little bit. Just give two things a try.

1. If you really wanna leave this world, be very sure. You don't get a second chance. At least consider that you might be in depression and talk to your doctor about it. It's a real chemical imbalance (like diabetes) and pills like Prozac can do wonders. Also, consider counselling.

2. Give it a little time. Make small steps to make your life better. Take a walk every day, VOLUNTEER somewhere, just once a week. You won't change overnight, but at least try this approach. If you don't feel better in a year, then you'll at least know you gave it everything you had.

im sorry but iraqis are ******* meltaly retarded! Look what happens there, if there religion was so great why do they keep mooving here? Look life is full of ups and downs, everyone has them, I think people that kill themselves is because they are lazy, an easy way out to get out of there problems, look around the grass is not greener els where, someday life will cut you some slack! i promise but you have to get threw this first. Maybe you could get some therapy, or right how you feel every night, one day realise that everything does happen for a reason, keep your chin up! BE STRONG good luck

The first answer is that because you would be dead!!
Listen, life is hard and we all have moments of despair but, we are to live our lives out fully! You too! I know times seem rough and the many ideologies out there, about the afterlife, can really mess with your head.

I am a Christian but, that does not mean that I think I am better than you at all! I simply have a different outlook than you do!

In as much, in addressing the Islamic view of heaven, I cannot see the taking of lives would get anyone honored, anywhere!! Including your own life!

This much I know, we are here for a reason and a season! We all have purpose in our short life spans! So, please use yours to its fullest.

I'm not going to give you some bla bla christian close minded answer. Although I do believe in god, I don't believe in all the crap all those extremists try and push down our throats.

Look at it this way. Of all the billions of sperm, you were the fastest/brightest. Billions of others died trying to be you. So maybe your life is ****, but it just means you need to make some changes. Your obviously here for a reason, sit down and reevaluate your life. Think about where you want to be, and what you enjoy. If your here you might as well be doing something with it.

Life as we know it is an illusion and you can create your own illusion (chose a better on for yourself). When your time is up it is up no matter if you kill yourself or you die some other way!! But don't be too hasty my Friend, Tomorrow is another day and things have a way of working themselves out. Talk to some friends or a shrink you may be surprised how many resources you still have left.

Well, let's sidestep the God or not God for just a minute.

When someone kills themself they leave behind the people that love them. You may not even realize how many people love you. You will leave them with so much guilt and anguish that they may find it hard to ever recover for the loss. I have seen suicide destroy lives because everyone wants to blame themself or others and they can not cope with the fact that they must go on without the person they lost.

Reconsider just on the fact of the damage you will cause to the ones you leave behind. Suicide is a selfish act. You may escape the life you have grown to despise but, you are selfish to leave so much grief and suffering at the feet of the ones who love and care for you.

Sorry about you getting scammed, but I firmly believe that life is just one big scam after another and after another, don't you? I can't give you a reason to live- I can barely find a reason for me to keep living let alone give you a reason-- obviously faith won't cut it-- but you got the Iraqi's wrong--it's Al Qaeda and bin laden followers and they believe that death will be wonderful because they are taught there will be 82 virgins awaiting for them-----boy, were they scammed, don't you think? Like someone can even FIND 82 virgins let alone have them all awaiting this crazy terrorists and each terrorist is supposed to get their own 82 virgins----talk about being stupid assholes and naive enough to fall for a scam.......I hope I made you laugh---if you don't laugh at this life, you have to cry, and I hate the way I look with my mascara running down my face..................

if you're an athiest, how will you be rewarded? What "power" will reward you? The Japanese in WWII also believed in obtaining rewards for crashing their planes into their enemies. I can not fathom a belief that doesn't believe in God, or least something that created all this wonder we live in, the ocean, trees, animals, the miracle of life itself, air, natural food, stars, etc...... Life sucks, believe me, but I have hope, and faith in Jesus, who was sent by God to save us.

I know that sounds like crap when it's written there, but you got to have faith in more than just yourself, I mean, how's that gone for you so far? I have bad days and times too, but I believe in more, and that's what gets me through to enjoy what I do have.

Just some thoughts, unlike some Christians on this site who make me sick to have them call themselves Christians along side me

Stop it right here and right now. You are having problems and are begging for sympathy. Sorry. There's your sympathy. Find something to believe in even if it is just yourself. Get a job, make money, pay bills, go to Dr. and figure it out, you just keep going and doing what you have to do. It's called growing up and being an adult. Welcome to the real world, it's not a bowl of cherries.
