How come my dog isn't active this summer?

Last season my rottweiler (Joey) was so active, but this summer
he isn't.

give the dog a break maybe he is getting older and doesn't feel like running around this summer.

just getting used to the heat.make sure to socialize him through out his adolesence-of topic but all too important with rotties
