The Bible was written by people who were used as tools for God, so in essence, God was writing His word through man. How can you discount the Bible so easily when most of the prophecies in it have already been fulfilled?

People push the truth away from themselves it says in Romans chapter 1 verse 18. It goes on to say that men are without excuse for not knowing God, because God has given us the sky and the sea and all that He has made, in order to prove Himself to us. Yes many prophecies have been fulfilled, and as time passes by, more and more are coming to pass also. We are I believe approaching or even are in the last days. People tend to be influenced by others' rather than listening to their conscience and consciousness of God.
The Bible also says that God has set eternity in the hearts of men.
It's very much a matter of choice.
I am glad I choose life - and life in abundance, which comes only from God who created us.

The proper purpose of prophecy is to stop bad behavior. It consists of a warning and a predicted consequence if the behavior is not altered. Alternately it may predict a reward for repentance and reform. It is NOT a simple, neutral prediction of the future. It always has an immediate purpose.

"Prophecies" out of context are easy to manipulate because they are necessarily vague. Symbolic language makes interpretation a requirement, so almost anything can become a "fulfillment" of prophecy. Some Christians wonder how Jews can fail to see Jesus' fulfillment of Jewish prophecy, but Jews are just as amazed at what Christians try to read into their scriptures. If the same Bible can inspire such divergent viewpoints, how can anyone call it "evidence"?

why is it you think the bible or christians claim that no one in the present day is a prophet or inspired by god... because the lies were hidden in the past. John Lennon was a prophet... murdered by a christian... there are bunches of omens out there that christians turn a blind eye to... you talk prophecies well much of the information was about today and some still yet to come... when the first bibles were written it was stolen from our times that is why they are called prophecies... some truth slips into it but also signs of good and evil... christians have been the ones talking in terms of good and evil only.... but the first church set up by the roman empire didn't quite understand what the book said... it was written in Latin back then was considered a secret language. the devil didn't see that it would be translated someday... the second command means don't bow or pray to statues... this is called an omen they often behave opposite to what is written showing they were not inspired by good. There are a long string of these examples... that is why the devil insist on blind faith.. because anyone challenging it can easily see the errors and hypocrisy

What prophecies have been fulfilled?

You read into them what you want and think they have come true. In reality they were written for an entirely different purpose.

Rev was written about the Roman Empire at a time when christianity had barely begun. Most early christians (especially Paul and even Jesus himself) believed that the world was going to end immediately, as in 2000 years ago. They did not imagine that christianity would become a "religion" because humankind was not supposed to be on earth this long.

Believe what you want but don't expect the rest of us to be that stupid.

well...there is a difference between CLAIMING that prophecies have been fulfilled (which is all the bible merely does) and having actual empirical evidence that a prophecy has been fulfilled...and it is a complete fallacy on the part of christians to say that the bibles claims of it's own prophecies being fulfilled suffice as evidence of the miraculous...the bible cannot prove itself to be true...it's illogical

The Bible predicts that a time might come while know-how will advance with out put off, human beings may well be traveling very frequently, there may well be a scarcity of nutrition, conflict and rumours of wars might advance, environmental failures, human beings might grow to be mockers of God, Israel might grow to be a rustic lower back in one day and all the eyes of the international may well be on them. it is all i will think of of suited now. i might might desire to look it as much as get all of them. while all of those issues take place on an identical time is a demonstration that Christ returns very quickly.

Even though the bible was written by a lot of tools, it doesn't make it accurate. It has been translated 3 times before it ever got to King James who requested his own special translation. Why would anyone be a literalist is the real question.

Prophesizing is like "psychology." If you know the behaviors of people you know how they are going to act and if you know how they are going to act you can "predict" or "prophesize" how and what WILL happen someday. PLAIN and SIMPLE, and there is NOTHING supernatural about that..............UNLESS you happen to be of the CHOSEN of the Lord in heaven of EGYPT in ancient times.................This is "where" the hebrews plagerized many precepts, EXCEPT they were not of his CHOSEN..........Murderers are of their FATHER who is a liar and was since the beginning........
