when you are starving yourself body loses water weight and muscle and slows down metabolism dramatically.
she will gain all and more back as soon starts eating normal again - and she will one day.
how much is possible to lose- all muscle she had, the more muscle you have the more you will lose.
i was in hospital (was hit by a car in december) and couldnt get out of bed for more than 2 weeks - i lost all the muscle i had (i was a dancer and had a lot of it), i didnt weight myscelf but i think it had to be between 25-30lbs.

Ok this isnt for your friend, your considering it yourself and ill tell you. NONE. Youll lose water weight for the first week then your body will start feeding off of fat stored in your body. Then a month down the road when its eat or die and not have a reason to not be fat anyway youll eat and every single pound will come back. Its your bodies way of saying hey im gonna get starved again so i better store even more fat than I did before.

Anorexia is determined by a persons body mass index (BMI), not how fast the weight is actually lost. Your friend can be losing alot of water weight if she has cut down on sodium especially. You should remind her that losing weight too quickly poses some health risks besides usually not keeping the weight off long term.
