Should i propose to keep a relationship?

I have been dating a girl casually for the last 5 months and i really care for her . The problem is that she is going abroad for 2 yrs, and she thought it would be better if we stop seeing each other so we both agreed to break off the relationship and while i was heartbroken, i had no choice but to accept her request.
She invited me for a drink this weekend (she said she wanted too cheer me up so that i wont miss her) and during the night i jokingly said hey let's go to vegas and get married. I was just joking but her eyes lit up and when i told her i was just joking , she had a disappointed look on her face and was about to start crying.
I don't really believe in marriage and i don't think i am responsible enough to be married but she is leaving the country in two days and i want to keep seeing her so my question is should i ask her to marry me to make her stay? My second question is if she wanted to get married, why did she suggest that we break up ?

Growing up means accepting and adjusting to change. es you have feelings and be open to taking , its sad, but keep it real and plan to meet at the empire state bldg. top floor in two years for a kiss!
