He may just be making a friendly conversation, but you could try asking him if he has a girlfriend, and that is usually a pretty good hint that you're interested in him.

If he isn't he'll back off. If he is you can work from their. Chances are that he has at least noticed you and likes you enough to share with you.

The good news is, guys are never going to accuse you of sexual harrassment, so just go ahead and ask him if he has a girlfriend or not and if he wants to go out.

In fact, even if he says he does have a girlfriend, ask if it's serious. If he even pauses before he answers, you'll get him in the sack.

Next time you see him ask him questions that need an obvious response.

Such as, so have you and your girlfriend found anything in the area?

If he likes you and is free he will tell you.

Luck!

Right, like the first poster said, all you have to do is ask him. Guys aren't hard to read if you just talk to them. They tend to be quite upfront.

Sounds like he is just shooting the breeze. If you want to know if he has a girlfriend, ask. If he doesn't ask him out for coffee.

Just ask him. If he doesn't have one, then ask him out. If he has one, then ask him out anyways! Good luck.
