The problem is millions of people can come here without going through any legal process and the government turns a blind eye.

In my opinion the problems are not much different than when the first immigrants came to this Continent.
In your private home you would limit/control the people that would be there. But if it were over run with all kinds/types of people then you would ask for police help in controlling/weeding out the bad guys.
This country was founded on mostly the unwanted and criminals from other countries. It seems that our government/citizens forget the words on the statue of liberty. "Give me your tired, your poor, your hungry."
Or what were are enemies during the war with Germany, the same prisoners where held in this country and welcomed as citizens. They were treated better and more welcomed than the Indians and Black Americans.
You can't have it both ways but it seems that current/past American history proves different.

There really is no significant problem with immigration here in the United States today. There is an obvious demand for individuals to work here in positions that many Americans do not want to do. There are no shortage of individuals however that would like to close the borders completely, which would probably not be a smart idea.

Its going to bankrupt our country. Its going to turn it into another Mexico. Our government keeps saying its impossible to get this many people out of the country, well then, its also impossible to collect all this money they claim they will have to pay. Its one big joke. Not to mention another 20 million will be here in another 10 years and once again it will be the same old story. Can't get them all out so give them amnesty.
We can put people on the moon but we can't stop these illegals from taking over our country. This is BS and we all know it. What are we going to do, sit and let it happen?
The American people are going to have to get up in arms if they want a decent country left for our children and grandchildren.

Recently large demonstrations have taken place
across the country protesting the fact that Congress
is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that
the US might protect its own
borders, might make it harder
to sneak into this country and,
once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand
the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover
me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all
the beds and washed the
dishes and did the laundry
and swept the floors. I've
done all the things you don't
like to do. I'm hard-working
and honest
(except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters:
You are Required to let me stay in your house
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
You are Required to Educate my kids
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family
(my husband will do all of your yard work because
he is also hard-working and honest, except for that
breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out,
I will call my friends who will picket your
house carrying signs that proclaim my
RIGHT to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have
a nicer house than I do, and I'm just
trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working
and honest, person, except for well,
you know, I did break into your house
And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a
fraction of the cost of my keep, and
there is nothing you can do about it
without being accused of cold,
uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and
bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn
MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can
communicate with me.
Why can't people see how ridiculous
this is?! Only in America .
if you agree, pass it on (in English).
Share it if you see the value of it.
If not ignore it.........
along with your future Social Security
funds, and a lot of other things.

one thank you to end the circulate of illegals is to handle the employers undertaking - hefty fines for breaking the regulation & encouraging illegals to apply faux id's & stealing SS#'s so as that they are in a position to artwork. If this became achieved - maximum illegals would not come here as quickly as the be conscious have been given around that artwork became only approximately impossible to hit upon. We extra advantageous worry approximately illegals from all international huge (no longer only Mexico) - any potential terrorist can go our borders only as trouble-free as every person else - Congress & every person extra advantageous communicate approximately fixing this issue if we'd like place of foundation protection from yet another 9/11.

Some of the comments here are simply racist. Now lets get realistic because it is IMPOSSIBLE for the govt. to report 20 million immigrants, so the only thing that congress should do is pass a reasonable law that will benefit both sides. And isn't America a country that is literally made up of every part of the world?

As long as CITIZENSHIP is on the table, then it's a political battle to get "voters" into this country. It is impossible to expect that 12-20 million people will be deported, so we know that somehow they must be made legal.
I think if they were all given (with fees, or fines, or whatever you want to call it) green cards with NO chance for citizenship, it would remove the voting issue - then both the Democrats and Republicans can just do what's best for the country instead of focusing on what's best for their party.

If you live in one of the overly-crowded cities near the borders like I, then you have extreme traffic jams (due to many stinky, rusted, old beat-up trucks (that you KNOW did not pass anyone's smog test); 7 out of 10 radio stations blarring crap in espanol day and night; illegals looking at you as though YOUR the one in the wrong country (especially if your Black and then the look includes disgust); and you also get to look forward to your kids being suspended from school for fighting to defend themselves against some stupid pee-wee mexican gang patterned after their parent's retarded gang...
