Well the elliptical machine is a great way to get in shape fast. It is the best piece of cardio equipment available, it works every muscle in your body. If you don't have 20-30 minutes a day, try squeezing in 5 or 10 minutes a few times a day. Some studies have actually found that shorter workouts a few times a day can actually boost your metabolism more than a typical longer workout once a day.
As for food, try to eat anything as unprocessed as possible. Don't necessarily avoid any specific food group, such as carbs. Just try not to eat a lot of food with a ton of added sugar. Try to stay away from saturated and trans fats. Also, since you are trying to tone up and not just slim down, eat as many lean proteins as you can. It's easier to just try to generally eat healthier than to stick to a specific 7 day plan. Good luck!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Eat 6 small but balanced meals per day. Your carbs should be high in fiber and your proteins should be lean. Fats should be sparing but concentrated in the omega 3's and omega 6's. This will provide a slow but constant stream of vital nutrients. Avoid greasy foods, alcohol, and candy.
Lift weights or perform power yoga because either of these will slightly increase your lean mass, which will burn extra calories 24 hours per day. This will increase your resting metabolic rate. Also, some cardio helps.
Use a measuring tape instead of a scale to measure your progress because it is more accurate than the scale.
Here is a sample workout, a healthy foods list, and a sample meal plan.

hello, i heve been under weight for a long time and my doctor said that i need more muscle and she told me if you gain weight then lose it in the right places it would help from 120lbs i went to 128lbs in just 1 and 1/2 weeks and now i am losing it all and are now in the process of a six pack=] so gaining and then losing really did help but dont rush it or youll get stretch marks if you do use baby oil it works really well!

cardio 5 days per week, weight training 3 days per week. abs 5 days per week. don't excersize 7 days a week. there is such a thing as overexcersizing. on Mondays work your chest and triceps, wednesdays work back and biceps, and fridays work legs and shoulders and use your eliptical monday thru friday and do about 250 abs 5 days a week. it doesn't take long to tone with this program.
