As long as it doesn't fall off your finger when you wave goodbye to someone, who cares?

Snug enough to not fall off and loose enough to not cut off circulation. Just have the people behind a jewelry counter size your finger with their ring size things. Make sure to tell them if your fingers swell. OR if you have some other kind of ring that fits comfortably but not sure what size it is, the jewelry personal has a measuring thing for that too.

Comfortably. The ring should glide comfortably on and off, but not slip once in place. Not too tight, because if you gain any weight, it may become too small. My mother had a complication from cancer that made her lower arm swell on one side. This was years after the fact due to removal of her lymph nodes. She had to get a new wedding ring. Just wanted to point out that even if you don't think you'll get fat, you never know what will happen.

YOu need it to be comfortable, but too snug is not a good idea. Many
of us gain a few pouds with the comfort of marriage,
and if you are planning a pregnancy, if your ring is snug
now, it may get too tight with pregnancy and it would
be a shame to have to get it cut off. So keep that in mind
when choosing.
I hate tight rings anyway, they bug me.

Not so snug that it leaves a mark, but it has to be somewhat snug so as not to be able to slip over your knuckle, or you'd lose it. Better tight than too lose in my opinion.

not so snug that it hurts. but i will tell you that mine is tighter in the hot summer than in winter, because my fingers swell a little with the heat. so take that into consideration. try the shake test. hold your hand with finger tips pointing toward the floor. shake your hand vigorously and if the ring falls off it's too big.

A little snug, but make sure your skin has breathing room. Make sure you can take it off as well if need be.

Your ring should not be falling into the sink everytime you wash your hands or doing sommersaults around your finger. It should also not be leaving an indentation. My husband was never comfortable wearing a ring, so I let him off the hook. I have an invisible one through his nose, anyway.

mine is a half size too big, its a nicer feel than a snug fit. if you swell up sometimes in the morning, then youll want it to be a little looser.
