To answer your two questions. Yes, I have heard of the UK National Lottery. I get at least one e-mail per day informing me that I have won it. I've won it so many times that I should have enough lottery winnings to buy the UK. And, that should give you a clue that, to answer your second question, no, it's not legitimate, it's a scam, scam, scam, scam, and, did I mention, scam. What you can do in this case is forward the e-mail you received to abuse@yahoo.com.hk, and hopefully they will delete the persons e-mail account with yahoo. That will stop the person for about 5 min until they can set up their next yahoo e-mail account.

Pretty much everybody with an email has heard of it, and has gotten an email saying they've won it.
It's a scam - sorry, you didn't really win anything. Do a search here on "UK lottery" and you'll get a lot of hits.
If you respond, they'll let you know that there are "delivery fees" that you have to pay up front to collect your "prize" - send them money, and you'll never hear from them again.

Definitely not right! The National Lottery in the UK will never contact anyone if they've won. It is up to the person to contact the Lottery people to claim a win.
Don't respond is my advice!

I got one too. It's a major scam. My husband called the FBI and they said to ignore it.
