in cooking, it belongs to the "white fish" category which beens its versatile and substitutable for fish like perch and whiting.
it works great for many recipes lbecause it does not have too strong of a taste. it really soaks up seasonings ike the curry fish i just made! *fantastic*

Well it was the clean kind of course mentioned in the Bible of Lev.11 and Deut.14. Luke 24:42 says "And they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and of an honeycomb." I'm not guessing because we don't supposed to guess; we just know it was the one with fins and scales.

Its a fresh water fish.
It has become very popular in Hispanic and Asian cuisine.
It is farm raised and you can buy it live (swimming) from most big Chinese Supermarkets/ Seafood restaurants. Main stream markets are starting to sell it too.
I have a friend who is trying to raise them in a pond. Very dirty fish. Catches disease easily too.
Personally I don't like it. Prefer Cod (firm flaky meat).
