Burgess disease is a hereditary disease carried by women and passed onto the male children by the mothers, and often skips a generation. It is a general name, not the technical medical name, for weak ankles. It does not affect women.
My father and one of my uncles had the illness, and it is also my surname.

You must mean Berger's disease. Go ahead and look it up.
