It is probably the larvae of the Indian moth. Throw your infested stuff out and thoroughly clean out all cabinets.

Discard any food products that have any signs of the insects or worms in them: worms, webs, etc. Anything else that is still sealed and you are cerain that there are NO HOLES in the packaging: wipe down with water and bleach, or put in the microwave for a few seconds. Put the perishable flours and other similar products in the refrigerator, where the worms cannot live, providing you know there are not any living in the packages. Keep sugar and other things like this in sealed jars or plastic containers. Now that EVERYTHING is out of the cupboards, wipe them down thoroughly with water and bleach, after they have been cleaned of debris. Wipe the walls, well into all the corners and any cracks with the solution. Don't miss any surfaces, to be cerain that all eggs are killed and cleaned off. Don't forget the BOTTOMS of the shelves, too. Replace the contents of the cupboards, only when you think the boxes are fully cleaned to avoid any urther outbreaks. Be careful to purchase fresh items, and if you find that a particular store seems to have more of a problem with causing outbreaks, then you may need to find a different place to shop.

Control: Eliminate the source. All potential sources of food for the moths should be either discarded, cooked, frozen, or placed inside an air tight container (ziplock bags are not airtight).

Treat all cracks and crevices with the Invader aerosol. This will provide a good residual for any future emerging worms. Repeat this step in 2 weeks.

Set up moth traps. These traps will catch the adult moths before they can lay eggs and re-infest another food product. The traps contain no poison of any kind. They are nothing more than a glue board and a sex pheromone pill placed inside. As soon as the adults emerge from the cocoon they will head straight for the moth trap. Each trap will last about a month.

When new food is brought into the house keep this food in airtight containers or inside the refrigerator for a couple of weeks.

If you have beetles or weevils, do not use the moth traps(they work only on grain moths) but follow all other guidelines.

I don't know the correct spelling but it's called a mealy bug. Getting rid of them is a job. You have to clean everything out of the cabinet (except for canned foods of course) and throw them out and then the cabinet has to be completely empty and scrubbed with a water and bleach solution. After you have to wait until its completely dried. Be certain not to put cereals or flour, anything like that back inthe cabinet . Keep those in closed plastic or other covered containers. Those little buggies are horrible as you can see to get rid of. Only put canned goods in cabinets or they will come back. ..good luck bettyk

Get rid of all open containers of cereal, flour, pasta...anything made of grain. Clean cupboards thoroughly with soap and water. Scatter a few Bay Leaves around. Then store any future cereal, flour, etc in Tupperware-type containers. You can add a Bay Leaf to each container.

if it looks like worms, then it is moths. you have to chuck out everything which is affected and give the pantry a really good clean, a bit of surface spray while it is empty won't hurt either. my mum keeps her flour in the fridge to stop them, but I invested in really good containers from tupperware which seal properly and haven't had any trouble since.

Put flour and cereal in tupperware type containers, don't leave them in the bag, or cardboard box, easy entry especially in transit to the stores.

That happens when it's old. Get rid of it and wrap the container in plastic in the future. Also, monitor the date on the package because at some point it's going to spoil, regardless of what you do.

They are called weevil (sp). Keep the food in a tightly sealed container. Generally the food is old if it has weevil, so you'd want to rotate your food.
