I pray often during the day; if I see a situation and think "that could use some prayer", if I see a person who looks like they need a prayer, if I hear something on the news, if I have a thought I should not, etc. Alot of the time my prayers are for things I may not know the outcome of, so I leave it to God, because I know He's heard me.

I pray several times a day and just before bed. I prayed about 30 minutes ago for my husband. Yes God answers my prayers. The last one was this morning. He gave me another day on this earth with my family and friends

I am a Muslim and I try to pray my five obligatory prayers a day. But throughout the day I call upon God. There are a number of sayings many Muslims use to help them remain God-conscious: Subhan'Allah (glory to God); Alhamdulillah (praise to God); Allahu Ahkbar (God is great); Insha'Allah (God willing). Many Muslims also use "Bismillah" before doing daily activities, such as driving, eating, and getting out of bed.
There is a very good Islamic "dua" (prayer) that basically says, "God, if this (endeavor) is good for me (my family, my livelihood, etc), please bless it and make it easy. And if it isn't, then turn me away from it. You are the knower of everything." So when I pray for something specific, I trust that God's "answer" is what is best for me--even if it's not what I want. I trust that there is a lesson somewhere to be learned from it, and in time I will understand. It takes patience to develop that trust in God's "answers."
Peace be upon you!

I try to pray five times a day as a Muslim. But more important than that, i try to keep my heart in the state of remembrance of God. Yes, God always answers our prayers with what we wanted or hoped for, or in a better form.

God always answers prayer. Sometimes it doesn't happen in my timing but in His. I pray often and have a close loving relationship with my FATHER.

It is much too dangerous. Charles Fort has listed many factual incidences of ignorant people confronted with, say, a drought, and then praying fervently--and then getting the entire village wiped out in a torrential flood.
A cookie to anyone who can correctly identify this! : D
More seriously, I don't pray, because I believe in not necesarilly an impersonal god, but one that doesn't really care.

Wow, how disturbing to me that with all these answers no one really questions the basic assumption that prayer is something primarily to be answered? Except maybe your two muslims up there.
I pray daily. But prayer is not about asking the cosmic vending machine for favors. It is about a spiritual state, of communing with something greater than oneself, of experiencing the Divine. It is about remembering, as one said. I do pray "give us this day our daily bread"; I ask for my needs. But that is only a small part of prayer.
Peace to you.

I pray throughout the day. 4 months ago when my daughter was born. My placenta ruptured and I had to have an emergency c-section. I prayed to God to save my baby ( i had lost a daughter in my 8th month 2 yr. earlier) and he did! She is a daily reminder that God loves me and hears my prayers!

Everyday, through my good times and my bad times I pray, He has answered my most recent prayer by helping me reach out to a friend of my mine and it ending in him receiving Christ.
