you cant choose which areas to lose the weight off so it just has to be overall weight loss.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Unfortunately, you can't spot reduce, meaning you can't lose weight in the areas that you want to without losing it everywhere else, too.

So, try making healthier food choices and altering your lifestyle. You don't have to starve or give up carbs forever or any of that nonsense, just try substituting what you already eat for smarter alternatives. Try Splenda instead of sugar, Light Soy Milk instead of milk (or at least skim), light and fit yogurt (45-60 calories) instead of yogurt and/or ice cream (it's delicious frozen), etc. Just pay attention to nutrition labels, aim for low calories and high protein.

Also, find a workout that you really enjoy doing and can stick to on a daily basis. Don't try to make yourself do something that you hate, you'll never stick to it on a long-term basis. Start walking the dog for 20 minutes every night, or take a yoga class, or anything that you think you could potentially enjoy.

Best of luck!
