I just got back from a cruise. We stayed at the Dania Beach Sleep Hotel. It was very clean and had free breakfast and transportation shuttles to/ from the airport and cruiseport. It has a Walgreen's next door (convenient for last minute forgotten items) and a strip mall across the street with an Italian, a Mexican and a Chinese restaurant for dinner the night before the cruise. Also at the end of the mall is a Publix grocery store. I bought a six pack of 24 oz Pepsi ( the cruise only had CoKe) and a six pack of bottled water. Both of these are allowed on Princess. Have a really great time.

The Ft Lauderdale airport is right across I-95 from the cruise port; about 15 to 30 minutes depending upon traffic on the street and on the port grounds. I suggest that you just stay at one of the airport hotels. Some may offer a shuttle to the port and that will show on their web site or in their description. If not a shuttle to the port then just take their shuttle back to the airport and take a taxi or have the hotel summon a taxi.

Try this site: iBtraveling.com. I usually find a good deal there for hotels where you can compare or even bid on Priceline. Sounds like fun!
