Quite possibly, everyone will believe in the Bible 50 years from now, if the Lord Jesus returns by then.

Yes.

Lots of people take the Bible literally today, in spite of the present facts. I don't see why the facts will sudden matter in 2057.

P.S. Yes, i've seen the NIV. 1. Mistranslating the original languages is not exactly the same as updating the English. 2. Merely updating (and tweaking) the English will not magically bring the Bible into conformity with reality.

I think that peole wouldn't believe in now if it weren't for all the floride in the water and all the mind control devices the government uses to control the population. If 50 years the bible will have been forgotten, along with all the other bullsh..
religions. THE God is beyond explanation, this we will soon find out.

Not if they read it. Most people who believe in the Bible have not read it. The parts that are very clear and do not require much interpretation are not given much heed, like Exodus 22:18 "You shall not permit a witch to live." That's clear.
Not many people take the Bible seriously today except to be very careful not to offend the rabid religious nuts because they have a very long history of murder and violence against non-believers.
Modify the text? How do you modify "Kill witches".?

They were asking this question more than 100 years ago, my friend. They really were. Heresy is nothing new. Active Christians were so concerned at that point about how some 'scholars' were treating the Bible that they thought it wouldn't survive another generation. It has, obviously. We now have even better and more accurate translations than did the people who wondered about it so long ago. God will take care of His word. Just remember, it really is in His Hands.

We cannot change the word which is Holy. The Bible is the prophecy and prophesied a long time ago that everything will pass but not the word. Until today, we believe.

Most present day believers will be home with the Lord by then. If Christ has not returned by then, the remaining Christians will most certainly believe in the bible as it is now and will remain.

I don't even know how people belive the bible literally or metaphorically speaking today...

However I'm sure there will be many people who belive in the bible 50...100...maybe even 1,000 years from now. The bible takes faith...and the bible tells you that. It says the smart people will try to say it is not true (and it that the bible was 100% dead on!!).

And no one that believes in the bible will change. It is a sin to change the bible...Texts can be added and removed...but they cannot be altered.

It would be cool to see what a revised list of books would include.

My vote is for Nietzsche's Apollo Vs. Dionysus (sorry I forgot the title). And maybe some of the Gnostic books from the Nag Mahatti.

BTW: There are a few stories the Bible that are Historically accurate (like Exodus). The more research is done, the more conclusive the evidence that the Hebrew Exodus from Egypts actually occured.

People will always believe in the Bible.

Wise people read the Bible literally and also look for the symbolism, which teaches on several different levels.

God's word is the same yesterday, today and forever. However long we are here, it will stand. And long after, by the way. Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will never pass away.

It will be those who choose to modify and compromise His word, that will come to nothing.
