The best was Air Force Basic Training at Lackland AFB.

The second best was the Gott Chow hall, also on Lackland AFB.

Most of the Air Force chow halls...(I mean aerospace dining facilities, the people that work in chow halls dont like you to call it that) are about the same.

The absolute worst...is a Navy Galley.

At NAS Fort Worth JRB, however...I am a AF reservist so I am sure they dont always serve old fish and rice, just when the Air Force is eating there.

All the chows halls have decent food, if you live in the dorms its free. If you have to pay for it...its cheap..lunch is around $3

It may have changed but when I was at Fort Rucker in Alabama we ate pretty good. It is (or was) the post that training all Army pilots and also where the Army Warrant Officer school is. Since there were a bunch of officers coming through the food had to be top notch. If I remember right there were two lines. One for junk food (burgers, dogs, chili, hot sandwiches, fries, etc) and another for a real meal (pork chops, veggies, chicken cutlet, rice, etc) and both lines were open for both lunch and dinner. I was the best I ever ate in.

Fort Jackson, Reception Battalion. But I trained as a cook so I got to go to Ft. Lee and when they had Cook offs between the bases we (AIT class) got to try the food it was pretty good too.
