Just a little one, on my wedding finger, Japanese symbol for love. Too tacky?

Are you kidding. Heck, go get your tattoo. My mom and I went down and got tattoos together and she is 47. Tattoos don't have an age limit. You only live once. I think a Japanese symbol for love on your wedding finger is a beautiful idea. I hope you go and get one. Best of luck!

Definatley not too old. I worked in a tattoo shop for the last three years and we had people in their 60's getting their first ones. But I would rethink the finger thing. A lot of places WON'T tattoo fingers. If they do they might not warn you that in a year or so it'll fuzz and look like someone drew it on you with a sharpie marker. If you have any other tattoo questions I can help, feel free to ask!! Good luck.

Your never too old to get a tattoo.

People might find this shocking but all us tweny something's that are inked here is a SHOCKER we're going to be 45 with tattoos!!!

OMG!!

So you wanna start later in your life who cares...If YOU don't think it is tacky then scr*w everyone else's opinion.

More and more of the inked generation is growing up and joining the work force so that once you get a job excuse won't even apply anymore.

The old generations are getting just that OLD they won't be around forever things change

Of coarse, you are not too old. At 45, you can make your own decisions.
However, the fact that you asked if it is tacky probably means you are not really comfortable with the idea.
You should think about it more, and be absolutely sure.
Better safe than sorry.

Oh please, I'm going to be 47 and I'm still thinking of getting one. I just think it looks tacky if its to big or in real obvious places. Just make sure the Japanese symbol you want really means love. I know alot of people with tatoos, and they always talk about the people who get symbols thinking they know what they say, when really it doesnt mean what they want or has no meaning at all.
Good luck

Hell no, your never too old to do something different. My father is 54 years old, and is still getting tattoos done, just more meaningful ones now rather than flashy, show off tattoos. He has just got my mothers name tattooed on his ring finger, has my name tattooed with a seahorse over his heart(i have seahorses tattooed on me), has my brothers name on the back of his neck(pain in the neck boy), and he has my sons names tattooed on his left shoulder blade, behind his heart(i might have a hold over his heart, but his grandsons are behind all his love now). Nearly all his tattoos have been done in the last 10 years, as he has more things to be proud of now. I am pregnant again, if this one is a girl, her name will go around his wrist to symbolise the bond she will have on him, if its a boy, his name will go on his upper arm to symbolise the strength he will need to cope with 3 grandsons.

45 is the right time to get a tatoo. you don't experience peer pressure as a teenager or young adult would, and also you have learned to take your own decision by that age. So just go ahead and experiment.

Don't do it. You will loose so much integrity. Every time you put your hand out, there it is. Yes, it is tacky. Tattoos are a fad right now, but what are all these people going to do when the fad is over. However, I did hear some good advise about tattoos a while back. Get a drawing of what you are thinking about for the tattoo. Put it up everywhere; tv, car visor, stove, fridge, bathroom mirrors, computers, and wherever else you spend time (tv maybe). If after one year you are not tired of it, then consider it more seriously.
