Sure it's just fine! Pyrex is great in the oven, I have several Pyrex baking dishes that I use all the time, just be sure to use a cooking spray ONLY on the bottom of the pan so the cake can rise properly

there is really nothing wrong with baking in a Pyrex dish, in some cases it is preferred. every cinnamon bun and biscuit i have ever made in a Pyrex dish have come out excellent. cakes turn out pretty ok but they aren't as good as when they are made in metal cake pans. casseroles are excellent for Pyrex. Just experiment with different items and find what fits what you are baking

Yes, I have two of my mothers round pyrex dishes and bake cakes in them without any problems, I do oil them with butter and the flour them so the cake doesn't stick.

yes. if its a box mix, check the instructions for such a pan. If its a home made cake, watch the baking instructions for how to make time adjustments for a glass pan

Yes but read the directions, some call for the temp to be lower in glass dishes.

Yes it will be fine, just ensure you put it down on a cloth or trivet after removing from the oven as the heat could mark your counter.

Sure. And, most boxed cake mixes tell you how to do so (i.e. adjust the temperature or backing time) versus using metal pans.
