I never knew my dad... I'm turning 18 soon and i heard he was in prison... I have no clue where to start... I cant find his parents either which i have tried many times

Most states have websites where you can look up criminal offenders. All you need is his name, and which state he is in.

DO you know his name? Do you have an idea of what state he might be in? If you do go on to Yahoo type in the state and search for prisons. Go to the state or prisons web site and search on the name. You could actually do this on all of our great countries states. If you don't know your dads name start out with the prisons you think he might be in and send a picture with a letter explaining your self to several diffent inmates. That would help. You can also contact a social worker in the state office and ask for visitation with your locked up dad, depending on your age of course. You will be amazed at the resources right here on the internet. GOOD LUCK.

well, whoever knows he is in prison probably knows more than they are saying. Or at least knows someone who does. I assume your mother (if around) is of no help. If you know what he did and where to get in prison you can go from there. Do you even know his name? If you do, then you can ask the state prison system for a location, they should give it to you. If it was a city/county thing he'd be out by now. Sombody knows something, but is trying to keep it from you. And this may be a good thing, you might not like what you find.

Well If you have a first and Last Name for him and if you knew what city he lived in or could guess, then you can go online and go to that city's web-site and look for a search in that city's court records , which is a free search by first and last name ! If he is a felony then his record or court dates and stuff would show up there !! Most city's have a web site of their own and they have places to click on for court things like felonys or any court records! Good Luck to ya! ALl you need is a Name now days to find anyone!! P.S> If you knew what prison he may have been in then you could look up there web site too and they should also have a search options!

My answer would only help if you happened to have his social security number. But in case you do, here's something you can do. Write him a letter, put it in an envelope with your address on it. Then put that envelope in another one and address that to the social security office. They'll be able to forward your letter to him using his social security number to track down an address. The only risk in that is it's totally up to him to write you back afterwards. Good luck finding him. I just found my dad an year ago after a 10 year stretch.

yes depending on what state your in and what prison he's in, look it up and pull his name out of the inmate search. matter of fact you can call a couple prisons in your state and a cus. ser. will help. or you can use a search database to find him. here are a couple useful ones that really narrow it down.......
