I am 19 and have good credit and I still needed a co-signer to get a loan.

Actually, YES, you can...while you normally have to be 18 to engage in a contract, you are considered emancipated in terms of getting a loan-but only if the loan is for financial purposes. It might be different in your state, but I live in Florida and that is the law here.

I don't think so. It seems the students who can't get a cosigner for loans to satisfy a balance are pretty much out of luck.
