about how much they think tattoos are disgusting. I mean, if someone is asking a question about tattoos, then obviously they either have tattoos, want tattoos, and like them. It annoys the crap out of me to see someone giving a really negative and insulting statement, not an answer, about how tattoos are trashy, disgusting and wrong. Well i have 5 tattoos and am planning on having more, but i bet if you met me on the street you wouldnt even know i had tattoos, and i wouldnt know whether you did or not, and more to the point, i wouldnt care if you didnt. My tattoo artist has a sign in his studio ' the difference between an inked person and a cleanskin is, an inked person doesnt care if you are a cleanskin'. If you dont like tattoos, fair enough, but i dont want to see a statement about how trashy they are, and i certainly dont want to hear about how trashy they make me. If i am trashy, thats the way i am, not what i choose to put permanently on my skin.

It really does annoy me to see an angry statement about how nasty they are, or just someone being plain nasty and insulting, comments about prostitutes, dumpsters, trash, and other things i dont want to repeat. Its a personal choice and if someone cant respect that choice then maybe they should be the ones with a tattoo on their forhead saying d*ckhead. Im sure that they have or do things i dont agree with, but i dont really care what they have or do unless it will affect me directly, me having tattoos doesnt hurt anyone but me so maybe they should back off, get a life and leave others to their choices.

Dawn, it was actually after reading a response to your question that prompted me to post this, it was actually with some surprise to see that you got more positive responses by placing the question in a different catergory, polls and questionnaires, rather than the catergory more suited to a question about tattoos, its ridiculous.

AMEN! I also don't like the people who make up 'facts' about tattoos like they cause cancer. And how would they know if I am going to regret my tattoo? They do not know me. I have 4 tattoos (one is 14 years old) and I do not regret any of them.
You are right on all accounts. We don't go into other groups and say clear skin is so gross and tell people they will regret it. Live and let live, and if you don't like my tattoos then don't look at them.

Well, you really have to consider the sources of these 'tattoos are trashy' statements. Usually, there are misspellings of SIMPLE words, and invocations of religious figures (namely Jesus). From experience, these people have answered all questions the same way- from a judgemental, bigoted perspective.
The anonymity of the internet makes these people brave. I am inked, I am pro-choice, and I don't give a damn what other people think of that-the fact of the matter is that I judge people by their actions and statements. For that matter, I flat out don't give a damn what other people do with their bodies. Those people judge on appearance alone. That simple fact makes them hypocritical by the standards they claim to live by.
Trashy people come from all shapes, colors, religions, economic standings, and with/without ink. However, the ignorant ones think that they can tell one from the other based on what their skin looks like.

When I first started Yahoo Answers it really pissed me off but now I just laugh at how stupid they sound. There are just as many people that have no tattoos that are "trashy", "disgusting", and whatever they say us tattooed people and people that appreciate tattooing are. It will never stop. It just goes to show how ignorant and stupid they are. You are right tattooed people don't give a sh!# if if people don't have tattoos. I guess that just makes us better people. :)

I think you are so right! I personally don't have tattoos, but I think they are great and am planning to have one done! I am sick and tired of people doing that. I mean, seriously, if you don't like tattoos, why are you even in the tattoo section? And i am a level two, that means i can give people thumbs up and down, and if you say they are gross or disgusting, then you, my friend, are getting a thumbs down! :p!!!

honestly it doesn't p*ss me off at all because i don't care what other people, especially strangers think about me and my skin. i love myself and i love my tattoos. i got my tattoos for myself and for the art and not for acceptance from other people and if they think i'm trashy, great. i actually have friends who have said that they think tattoos are trashy and that's fine with me because i know who i am. so when people get on here and start tattoo bashing in an answer i just smile and roll my eyes.

i think it`s ridiculous really, because people who have tattoos usually don`t go around saying negative things about people without tattoos...whether a person has tattoos or not isn`t an indication of their morals, beliefs, etc. or lack of same...i have 1 tat myself & plan to get more...i luv them & luv to show mine off & i don`t really care what other people`s reactions are!!!

to me tattoos are a persons personal preference I don't have one but my husband and brother do and I have friends who have them and it does not make them a bad person for having them it just seems that society lays either a biker or punk tag on someone that does have one or even 100

TATTOOS are not trashy, they are a statement and I could do whatever i PLEASE with my body. If nobody asked their opinion perhaps they should go to a different category, like religion or something. people are so judgemental.
it would piss me off too.
