I will be traveling with a 16 year old and a 13 year old. Will they be bored, or will there be a lot to do? What type of activities?

I have been on two Fantasy class ships with my two children. They offered plenty of activities throughout the day. May have been in a club, or playing basketball or ping pong. They were not required, and I believe that the Ecstasy has minigolf.

There is as much or as little to do as they want.

Carnival Ecstasy Activities

The Ecstasy is one of the smaller Carnival ships.

She does have a 9-hole putt putt course, arcade, basketball court, pool w/slide. The kids club uses one of the discos until about 10 pm for the teens. My kids always find vacation friends while we are on board.

Your teens will love the 24 hour pizza and ice cream.

As a Mom that cruises with teens, my advice is to get a set of the 2-way radios to keep in touch. The work great while on board and gives you piece of mind while giving the young ones freedom. You can buy them at Wal-Mart, Target, Radio Shack.

We took several teens on the Ecstasy in 2006 and 8 on the Conquest in 2007. If you get a chance for another cruise, I highly recommend the Conquest.

I highly recommend the Cavern by Jeep tour offered in Cozumel. It was really great.

Don't miss the market shopping in Progresso. Take plenty of $1, 5 and 10 in US dollars to barter in the markets.

Get to the port terminal in the earlier part of the boarding session. It can be a zoo. There will be access to food on the Lido deck when you arrive.

I also recommend getting the Soda Fountain cards for the teens. Soda is $1.75 per can. The Soda Fountain card will more than pay for itself on your 5-day trip.

I was on Carnival Inspiration and they did have a teen club and I think-at least from what I hear-that all Carnival ships have activities for teens. I would try to get them interested in the shows-they actually might like these.
