Pros:
It decreases your dependency on corrective lenses, in fact you may not need them at all.
Possible 20/20 vision achived with surgery.
No more contacts or glasses to buy.

Cons:
It will not fix normal aging process of the eyes. At age 40 or shortly after, most people develop presbyopia(ability of eye to accomodate between near and far). Presbyopia will require correction again.
Not 100% accurate; so may still need correction immediately after surgery.
Can have complications during surgery which may permanently damage the eyesight.
May need enhancements after surgery to keep vision crisp.

These are just a few. Hope it helps.

My Optomologist says too many risks. Besides, if you have something go wrong, you only have two eyes to last you a lifetime, do you really want to take they chance? There are other things you can do that are not so risky; ideal eyes, a hard contact you wear at night and wake in the morning with 20/20 vision (you may put them again a couple of days later when the vision starts to go back). All these contacts do is gently reshape the cornea. I used them and thought they were great.
