We are not all the same. We hold a broad range of political views. All of the atheists I know are very nice people who are law abiding citizens. We are just like everyone else; some of us are very intelligent, giving, funny, loyal friends, some are not.

You forgot to mention that we can bend spoons with our mind and can levitate up to 3 inches in the air.

Fear and lack of knowledge, I think. Many 'religious' people have never spent any time with an atheist, so they are scared. I was open minded when I got here, but I had misconceptions too. I associated all atheists with an opinion I had of Madelyn Murray O'Hare. Like me, you being from San Antonio, we know a little bit about her. Not a lot but more than some from other states.

All anyone has to do is open their mind and meet some of the wonderful atheists here. Don't judge, just converse.

Spurs ahead.

And that's why I don't hate no one. Hate is a strong word, and overly used to much. There are actions of some Catholic people I don't personally approve of. But, look people are people no matter where they come from. Loving each other, and excepting people for who they are, is more important than making someone so upset, and putting them on the spot of feeling uncomfortable.
I believe in God, I am a Catholic. But, it is not my job as a human being to tell you how to live and how you should feel about something. It's simply not my job. I believe everyone makes their choices and will deal with them when they have to. (When they meet God).

Give me a choice between an atheist and a religious fanatic and in spite of how much I love God, I'll pick the atheist anytime... as it's best to not know the true God at all than to be brain-washed by false religions! and man-made doctrines, superstitions and traditions! Most religious fanatics can't think for themselves anymore whereas the atheist only has him or herself to rely on to do just that... so can still use their God-given brain!

I agree with you. It is not really fair to judge people on this site, because you really cannot get to know them. I have several friends who happen to be atheists and love them dearly as friends. We have a great time together and they don't act like little devils. They do drink more than me but I don't have to partake of the drinks and that is OK with them. I just get annoyed by rude comments sometimes on this site by some folks. Blessings.

Yes, that’s true. But the same could be said of most groups of people however you categorize them. Why is that so difficult for some people to grasp? I wish people would stop stereotyping all groups. It only shows how little value they place in the individual.

Atheist seem to enjoy putting others down, I don't like seeing that because I've always taking up for people in life.

The religious people seem to me like they are at least trying to do right.

The wars are our wars as are the fanatics that we each have, God or no God we're stuck here together for now. Get over it already.

The general hatred of athiest comes from the same place that the hatred of Christians and others comes from.

I personally dispise the athiest who tries to restrict my free exercise of religion. When anyone tries to take freedoms from others to institute their viewpoint as the only way people get angry. Rightly and rightously so.

In my experience, those who say they 'hate' anyone or anything without just cause are showing fear, not hatred. The fear is usually spawned by ignorance - and I don't mean that in a negative way. For some, it simply is, for others, it's a lack of understanding and still others, it will take time.

blessings :)

I don't think you could call it hate but more misunderstood, most people with great faith in god just can't comprehend anyone not believing in God! Most people feel athiests have no boundaries in right and wrong or evil. Because they have no higher power or anyone spiritually to judge them, so I believe many people fear them instead of hate.

Actually as a Christian I can't hate you and as a human being I do not hate you, but yes I do disagree with you and you disagree with me. God loves you whether you believe or not. One day you will meet Him despite your unbelief. May you recognize Him before Judgment day.

I do not doubt you are probably a very nice and sincere person.
