How come Christianity is the most bashed religion over any other theistic religion? Other religions believe that they are right and they do preach it. Atheists "push" their religion on Christians just as much and then try to disprove it . Calling us self-righteous is silly and ignorant. If anybody is self righteous, it would be them for trying and failing to "debunk" any religion. Because as far as they know, they know just about as much about God as we do. So back to the topic, why christians alone? Many other religions such as islam, judaism, and paganism all believe in "Gods"

Yet again, what is the point of even arguing about religion? Would anybody seriously break there own faith just because somebody said something over the internet? All I am implying is that it is basically pointless to try to argue because you would feel right but mostly the other person would see you as a fool. Nobody will simply "give in" to another religion by Yahoo Answers.
Thanks for your time,
Nick

How would atheism not be a religion? some faith IS required in atheism because there is no hardcore evidence that there is no God. So as far as I am concerned, atheists are the exact opposites of Christians.

It's not Christians, but fundamentalist Christians who have managed to build themselves the reputation of being the most self-righteous people in the country.

Exhibit A:
A question earlier today
"All those do gooders like geldof and bono etc?
... spread the word for charity and gloat should this not be done in silence as god said "

How self-righteous do you have to get to judge people doing charity work because they are not doing it "as god said".

Also, check out 'pink_zebra's fine Christian reponse in that post.

Exhibit B:
Is there the equivalent of an atheist Kirk Cameron?

I think Christianity has alot more leniency than other religions that is why there is so much controversy over it, All you have to do is believe and if you do end up committing a sin all you have to do is ask for forgiveness, I don't know I wouldn't stress Jesus is my Lord and Savior and I know that is the right answer for me, as far as the other ones go Maybe they need to convince others to make themselves feel better about there religion because they aren't truly convinced themselves.

Atheism is NOT a religion.

I distrust all religions equally, although only the Christians interrupt my dinner by knocking on my door to sell Jesus. Might be why they irritate me more.
