Has the recent problems with Islam and terrorism made you think differently about religion and its place in the world? Or has it reaffirmed your belief that your religion is important in society and the only problem is a few crazy Muslims? After seeing the influence religion has in the Middle East in promoting freaks and nutballs, has that made any of you Christians hesitant about the relationship between Christianity and government in the US?

My view, btw, is that the problem is specifically with Islam and America has almost been based on judeo-christian values, but never was involved in a religious war. Our main battles were over different ideologies, such as communism and fascism.

I have found the abrahamic religions to pretty much the same: extremely violent. The US is in a religious war now against Muslims. Your question proves this point because you blame only Muslims instead of looking at the entire history of the middle east.

Bush, Falwell, and the other religious nuts on TV have nothing on Osama and the so-called extremest in the Middle East. It the arrogance of the Christian people that they have gone into the middle east and meddled in their affairs for the last couple of hundred years. Ask the Indians that were forced to attend Christian schools if the US didn't have any religious wars. Bush thought nothing of creating a war with Iraq even though he new thousands of innocent Iraqis would be killed. Would he have done the same if Iraq had been a Christian nation. NO!

I am also embarrassed by your simplistic views on what is happening. You listen to the right-wing propaganda on fox news and that seems to be the extent of your knowledge. I don't read conspiracy books, I read and know history. That is more than you seem to do.

Most of the US wars have been over economic expansion and furthering US power. That you don't like the facts, doesn't make them untrue. Why don't your try reading some history books.

Not at all. I've seen examples of religous atrocities throughout history. No the recent terrorism has not made an impression that has improved my views on religion. Religion in the middle East is much like western religion. The same mentality now as early christianity in the crusades.

From what I understand the 9-11 strike (specifically on the world trade center) was a strike against Usury - a sin in there eyes, as I'm sure a lot of things in our capitalistic government and way of life are offensive sins according to the Muslim religion. But I don't believe for one second that there are not political motives beneath all the moral issues.

Yes it did. And I tell you, right on this point, sometimes looking at reality I say to myself "I would have never thought that this would have been happening in the world!".

I was studying Religions for at least the past 50% of my life. And I believed every Religion was a Sacred thing.

(Under the spiritual "face", I am still believing it but ...).

Aknowledging what is (still) happening nowadays in the world, I understand -and I felt sad about it!- that "religions" are going to create problems among human beings.

Fighting, killing, ... in the name of God and in the name of a Prophet, is just a matter of human crazyness.

I feel, we should start thinking, speaking and acting because we want to be Good Human Beings. Not because -we think, we wrongly understood-, that Religion/Religions said "so and so" (= making wars, killing, and so on).

Could the Light enlighten all of us.

Peace in the world! Not a "race" is better or worste than another "one"!

If anything it's only worse than before. Are political motives at the heart of it? Yes. Just like other religions in history, governments use them to fire up the people to go out and conquer more territory. Power and control of the masses.

Not only terrorism, but every aspect of reality has changed my views towards religion.

No, it hasnt changed my view of religion,as I myself am muslim, and I know that this is not Islam.

Anyone can be a terrorist, regardless of religion or race. What all this crazy terrorism has done is made me embrace my faith even more.

As far as the government goes, well lets just not go there.....

terrorism has not changed my view of religion. our country's response to terrorism, or more specifically, the response of people like you to terrorism has only shown how hateful and ignorant people can be.

Criminal acts are carried out by criminals- regardless of motivation. So we got attacked on sept 11, and your response is "muslims are out to get us". its so ignorant of reality that it's almost superstitious!!

No it has not. I don't believe any of this is about religion. Religion is just the tool the greedy use to manipulate the masses.
