Mary and the other saints including our family and friends are intersessors not mediators when they pray for us.
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
And prayer to the saints is optional not required.
With love in Christ.

There is only one God who can give us everything, not just some things that are needed. He is the overall substance of every thing that is needed for us to be good Christians.. He is also a go-between person when needed .God is everything that is needed to man, Jesus, God, and Christ are all one they are filled with the holly spirit, where as Mary is Jesus blessed Mother and was considered as a heavenly mother. She was a human not a mediator. God is the only mediator that will ever be. No one is higher than God, that makes him number one in our lives forever. .

It is a common occurrence among all Christians to ask each other to pray for them. In every church service I have been to whether it was Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Disciples of Christ, or African Methodist Episcopal the congregation was asked to pray for other members of the congregation. Praying to Mary or the saints is considered the same thing in the Catholic church; you're just praying to someone already up there with God.
Furthermore, there is no place in the Bible where Christians are instructed to look to scripture alone for guidance. The early Christian church was built on tradition, specifically Jewish tradition. The veneration of Mary was seen the same as the veneration of the Queen Mother during the times of King David and his descendants. The scriptures came later.
If you would truly like a better understanding of the veneration of Mary by Catholics and the concept of "sola scriptura" I would suggest you read "Rome Sweet Home" and "Hail, Holy Queen" by Scott Hahn.
I do want to say thank you for not spouting that silliness about Catholics worshiping Mary.

You are correct.
Following are some quotes from the catechism of the Catholic Church:
618 The cross is the unique sacrifice of Christ, the "one mediator between God and men".
771 "The one mediator, Christ, established and ever sustains here on earth his holy Church
1546 Christ, high priest and unique mediator, has made of the Church "a kingdom, priests for his God and Father."
1544 Everything that the priesthood of the Old Covenant prefigured finds its fulfillment in Christ Jesus, the "one mediator between God and men."
667 Jesus Christ, having entered the sanctuary of heaven once and for all, intercedes constantly for us as the mediator who assures us of the permanent outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
2593 The prayer of Moses responds to the living God's initiative for the salvation of his people. It foreshadows the prayer of intercession of the unique mediator, Christ Jesus.
480 Jesus Christ is true God and true man, in the unity of his divine person; for this reason he is the one and only mediator between God and men.
There are many many more examples. You agree with the catholic Church on this point

John Paul II called mediatrax because her yes allowed Jesus to be born. she said be it done unto as your word Luke 1:26-38. Elizabeth calls Mary the Mother of our Lord Luke 1:43. She also calls Mary the most blessed of women. Read Revelation ch 12, who is the crowned woman?
Look at the reverence Israel gave the ark of the covenant and how God killed the soldier trying to steady it. Mary is the New Testament Ark of the New Covenant (she carried Jesus for nine months in her womb). Do you believe the tablets of the law were more important than Jesus? Would this new ark receive less respect than the one that carried the old covenant law? Protestants want to bash Mary but sometimes want to make Paul greater than Jesus. Your citation is from Paul but you missed Luke's account completely

Pastor Billy says: Amen!!! and I'm a Catholic yes Jesus is the one Mediator yet Paulo you want to decide for Jesus in How he mediates.
Paulo can I ask you a favor, can you pray for me my health isn't so good right now. If you do this bless you because you are interceding for me with intercessory prayer and you are co-operating with Jesus in his mediation just like our Blessed Mother Mary.
Paulo I pray right now that you will remove the anger from your thoughts and from your heart toward Catholicism.
addition: folks I had to come back and write this,
it seems that Paulo could be a fallen away Catholic who didn't know his faith that well and became a Baptist. I sense he fell for the usual superficial stuff told to naive persons about Catholics, the usual fear tactics and misinformation that embarrasses us, makes us feel foolish and pressures the less educated on the faith to fall away. Let's all pray for Paulo.

The Catholic church is a non-Christian cult that distorts God's Word for its own evil intent. The Catholic church teaches that Mary was sinless, but God's Word says ALL have sinned, including Mary. That means the Catholic church is calling God a liar.

Are you jealous that she is our Mother and not yours? As our Mother we can ask her to intercede for us and she asks her son. This is Scripturally sound as she is the prefigurement of the Church. The book of Esther tells of how she intercedes. How is it you people have a problem with Mary praying for us and then in the next breath you can't wait to ask everyone on this site to pray for you. Are these people better than Jesus' Mother? Don't say that she is dead and in a grave either because she is alive just like Jesus is alive. If he didn't raise his very own Mother than none of us have a chance, oh except all of you people who feel you are so much better than her.

For the person who wrote this ....... In Catholics, Mary is just the child bearer of Jesus Christ, they do not worship Mary, but respected her as the maiden that carried the messiah.
Where did you get the information from?

Why the anger? Wouldn't your efforts be better spent converting non believers? We Catholics don't worship anyone but God. Through his Son Jesus Christ.
We do however ask for Saints to pray for us. If someone asks you to pray for them, Do You?
I'm going to pray for you tonight. God Bless You.
