I took roaccutane (accutane in america) three years ago. Since then I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, severe depression and an eating disorder. I had no mental health problems before I took roaccutane.

Has anyone else taken this drug? It's an acne drug, the controversial one that people have commited suicide whilst on it

I'm not taking it anymore, it was a four month course three years ago. But I have read since that it can cause brain damage and continuing mental health issues

I took Accutane for a year when I was 16 years old (5 years ago). I was really depressed and angry all the time when I was on it. Once I got off the drug though, I went back to my old happy self. I haven't had problems with depression since then. There are really bad side effects to the drug though, including suicidal thoughts and suicide.

I hope you have talked to a doctor about this. If not, I would highly suggest it. They might be able to find out what's going on and find some medication or therapy that can help you.

Good luck to you!

There's no way of knowing how much of a hand it had in your anxiety, depression, and ED. A lot of times, problems like this don't surface until a certain age anyway. It's probably best to not worry so much over the cause and stay focused on solutions.

I have not taken it. But I would suggest that you quit taking it. It's not worth it. Keep your skin clean, eat healthy and be happy.
