I'm graduating high school and people are starting to ask me what I'd like as a gift. My natural response is money because I can't think of anything else that'd be appropriate, considering it isn't christmas or my birthday. I need more ideas about what to ask for. Got any ideas?

First of Congratulations!!!!!

I understand completeley. Usually when I get nothing but money I sometimes hate because I have nothing to show and tell..lol...here are some ideas:

If your going to college:
Ikea/Bed Bath and Beyond Gift Card
Laptop/Printer
DVD Player
Mini Refridgerator
Bookstore Money

In general:
Giftcard to your favorite stores
Ipod
New Cell Phone
Watch
Camera
Concert Tickets
Gas Card

If I were you I would make a list of the things you want and the things you need. You should mix them together so you get the best of both worlds.

It doesnt have to be all materialistic things. If your an artist, you might request paper, paints, markers, etc. You know things that supply your hobbies.

Wow that is hard question. I usually give money for graduations. This year my niece graduated and I got her a nice ring; she loved it but had not asked for it. I only gave her something instead of money because she has a job and I know her well so I knew the ring was her taste.

Can people register any place for graduation gifts like they do for wedding, showers, etc? If you can then I would register somewhere.

Congratulations on your graduation.

A lot of people prefer to give gifts rather than money, so you could suggest things like a digital camera or picture frames (digital or regular) to preserve your high school memories. I recently used a gift ideas website that has a graduation gift section - it showed a very cool looking all in one toaster oven, coffee maker, griddle, one share of stock for a major companies like Disney, personalized laundry bags, luggage, and a clock radio/docking station for an iPod.

Are you going to college? If so, then stuff that you need for your dorm room or apartment. If not, how about appropriate work clothes?

this may sound wierd now, but try some kind of household items. one of my friends got towels and coasters. she didn't undersand why till she got her first apartment,. something as unusual as pots and pans can be truly useful.
