Because now that you know the truth you want to know more about it. (when I learn more about the truth I want to know even more about it.) If you really want to know more than get a Bible and read, read, read!! If you don't get something reread it until you get it or ask someone about it and you might not find it out from either of those though and when that happens be patient and in time God will reveal it to you. Even if you read the Bible all the way through once keep reading it and each time you reread the Bible different things will stand out that is either in the text or something the God wanted you to see, and sometimes things will stand out from text you have already read and didn't stand out the first time you read it that is because it didn't need to stand out at that time(usually because you aren't struggling with something that would need the thing that stood out to you) and sometimes you may read something and something stand out and another time you read that exact verse or whatever and some thing completely different stands out. it is ok to be obsessed with learning more about God but try to learn some more patience or you might get tired and give up or not learn very and give up. but no matter what, don't give up!!!!! I am thankful that you are so eager to learn more about God!!!!!
If you are deciding to be a Christian than this should help you, but since I am a Christian I only have the Christian's perspective, so if you are deciding to believe a different religion this might not help you
if this doesn't help you I am sorry that it is so confusing

Thank God that you have realized that there is a whole in yourself. When I talk to people and they question my faith they usually aren't open because they don't think they need anything or any help. But God makes each one of us to desire Him. I can promise that you will never be whole until you ask Jesus Christ to fill that hole in your soul. To start begin to carefully discern and read carefully the Bible (start at the gospels not from the front to back, especially John). I would then try to find a good priest that you can trust and ask these things too (best to turn to a Catholic priest). If you aren't having luck with that find any Christian that is deep in their faith and talk to him. I will tell you the purpose of living, why you are alive. God, out of pure love for you, made you. He gave you free will to choose Him or to reject Him. He loved you so much that Jesus Christ endured an infinite amount of pain to break the barrier of sin between you and God. Christ made it possible to have a personal relationship with Him. Here is a site that may help out a bit. Check out the articles (ask Bible Geek and ask Fr. J sections) and the videos.
I really want you to e-mail me with any question. I'll be the Christian friend. If I don't know the answer, I'll find it.

I have read that all people come to a point in their lives where they make a conscious decision as to whether or not they will believe in God, usually in their 30's. I went through a sudden and unexpected conversion of the heart when I was about that age. It was an amazing thing...hit me when I was not expecting it. It became all encompassing just like you are claiming. You can ignore it, and listen to skeptics that will tell you you are crazy, or you can embrace it and see where it leads you. If it leads you to peace it can't be bad. I am a firm believer in Angels and what is called "spirit guides." They pop into our lives briefly or for extended periods of time to help us learn about a specific topic, or to help us through a period of personal discovery. You want the truth...the truth is that religion is a personal matter...no one has that answer for you. If you are truly serious, just seek a personal relationship with the God of your choice and see where it leads you.

The only way to find the truth is to searh for it. Really hard. you must explore the different faiths until your heart tells you that one is true. hard work and perseverance will be the only way you can find the right piece to fill your life. if you find a faith, read whichever books it teaches and pray about it. if it is true, you'll know. you'll know because you'll get a wonderful feeling of peace. don't worry- you'll find the truth if that is what you really want. just keep set on your goal, don't veer off or let others persuade you. and don't expect to get a physical, undeniable, tangible sign that spells out- this is the way. go with what your heart tells you. belief anf faith is necessary.
~~~And as I have said concerning faith- faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true~~~
Everyone has a need to search at some point. God made us, so is only makes sense for us to be curious about him.
God sent his only son, Jesus, to die for you because he LOVES you. God doesn't simply want you to join a religion and just go with that. He wants a relationship with you. He wants you to talk with him, telling him the good, the bad.. everything! I'm sure it's obvious by now that I'm a Christian.. and honestly I don't know what I'd do without my Lord. He's everything. He holds my hand through the bad times and rejoices with me through the good.
Theres so much more I could say but I don't want to just keep blabbing.. but if you want to hear more let me know!
God bless, I'll be praying for you to find clarity.
Well you are not going to get the truth without faith. Can you do that? Go to church and try it out dude. If the first one doesnt work out dont lose heart. I am a strong christian and there are pleanty of churches i dont like!!! You will find a good one. Then listen and learn. God and jesus can fill the gap in your life.
I have felt that gap before - i know what it means. Purpose is necessary.
Good luck in your search =) If you dont give up then the gap will be filled - i promise :-)
Life is about searching...searching for something bigger than life. Will we ever find it? No one knows for sure. But it is this uncertainity that makes God-or any religion- so beautiful. It is amazing that the thing that we are most unsure of is the one thing that we have the most faith in. Keep believing...you'll find truth one day and if not don't stop believing, besides who needs truth when you have faith and hope?
The Holy Spirit is calling you to repent & believe 'by God's Grace Alone, through Faith in Jesus Christ Alone as written in Scripture Alone'. One word of warning, you don't find God & truth, whether through prayer, meditation, going to a priest. These are all subjective means by which you will never find security. If you want to waste your time & energy by trying to get to God, He will allow you to exhaust all those insufficient means, until you realize that it isn't you who finds Truth, but Truth who finds you. Jesus Christ is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE (John 14:6).
God finds you & gives you truth & faith. He chooses to accomplish this in us by His Holy Spirit through His Word (The Bible) & His Sacrament (Baptism & Communion). If you want truth now, read the Gospel of John in your Bible.
If you are called by the Holy Spirit to receive Baptism, I suggest you find & approach an LCMS pastor (http://www.lcms.org/locators/nchurches/church.asp). He will be able to teach you the simple, clear & sure Gospel which is summarized well in Luther's Small Catechism (LSC). After this teaching you will be given a chance to receive Baptism where the Holy Spirit will indwell you. If you are already baptized & looking for the objective answers God gives as opposed to the subjective answers that man tries to provide, I suggest you at least learn about Lutheran doctrine--again (LSC) is a good starting point.
Find the contents of Luther's Small Catechism at
You want the truth? You should ask a priest; that's who I always go to whenever I have questions about my faith. I'm sure he could help you with any question that you have, they are generally very good listeners in this area.
And pray. God's telling you something, and you should listen. I don't know the best way for you to do that, but prayer will get you closer to your (and God's) goal.
I'll be praying for you!
