Read the rest of the context.... Jim
Matthew 19:25-26
When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Well that is very simple, firstly you need a small camel, probably a baby, but one that can walk, and secondly you need to forge a VERY BIG needle, possibly using multiple forges and anvils, once accomplished simply leash the camel and have it walk through the hole.

Technically it would qualify as the bible did not mention the size required of the needle. And if it does then there goes my plan :(

But again i doubt they did this back then.. honestly I'm sure people had far more important things to do then test 'myths' of the bible.

A needle eye is one of the entrances to the walled city of Jerusalem. The entrances are shaped in such a way that an armed man could not ride a camel through the entrance into the city. Only certain entrances allowed entry of a camel carrying burdens.

o Make sure you get the largest needle available.
o Ensure that the camel is calm - sedate lightly if necessary.
o Trim off all projections - knees, humps and so on.
o Lightly grease the camel on all exposed surfaces.
o Place the thinnest part of the camel against the needle's eye.
o Instruct the camel to exhale.
o Push like buggery.

I remember hearing that the "eye of a needle" was actually in reference to a passage used by travelers/traders when transporting goods. They would have to unload the camels to get through but it beat going the long way around. Jesus had to use terms that could be understood by the people of the time, so not everything is literal.

The "eye of the needle" is what the gates in Jeruselem were literally called called because of their shape.

While the bible is not literal, Jesus was speaking literally here about the gates of Jeruselem.

tall and narrow camels could not go through them packed they had to be unpacked, led through and reloaded. It was alot of work, but still done all the time.

There were openings in the wall surrounding a city then. It was just small enough for a Camel to go through UNLOADED of its cargo. It was for security purposes and ONLY AFTER the load was taken off could a Camel go through it. It was called The Needle gate. If you would like to know more please let me know.
