Of course we can! We can trust atheists with anything, as they are human beings.
For a moment, I thought you meant CAN'T trust them with children? If you did, I take offense to that. I'm a grown-up child of an atheist father. He taught me horrible things, like that being different isn't bad, how to think for myself, and now not to regard myself as sub-human because I'm a woman. My dad taught me how to make chili and how wonderful forgiveness is when he reconciled with his dying LDS (Mormon) father. My father is ethical, upstanding, and caring. He's spending more time than his brother helping his mother remodel her kitchen. He has rejected the faith he was brought up in, but remains absolutely true to his family. He and my mom were more concerned about raising independent, intelligent daughters.
Would I trust an atheist with a kid? Why not? I already have entrusted my life to one.

Why are Atheists being trust with children? Who said that children are safe with Atheists and why would the be? I only ask these questions because since when did Atheists start wearing Halo's? Oh yea, that's right they wouldn't be, would they?
There is no guarantee that any stranger can be trusted with children. Weather they are a stranger or some one you know, be they Atheists or not no one knows who can be trusted not to be a pedophile. We as human being can not see into other people's hearts to know what is truly in them. God tells us that we are not to trust man's heart because we can not know what is in his heart. And no, I'm not speaking of just men I am speaking of people in general.
Just because some one is an Atheist doesn't mean that they are safe to leave with children. And how can that then mean that they are to be trusted with other things, and things like what???
Unfortunately there are people that call them selves people of God and they use their position to abuse children and that isn't right. I'm sure that there are people who have gone into certain work just to be able to be around children, so that they can do their evil works. That is not some one who is being a person that does God's work, not at all. I pity them for their deception.
People who truly believe in God would not go there since they love the Lord and are right with Jesus Christ. Children are to be protected from those who would attempt to harm them. So no why would children be safe with Atheists? I don't believe that!

What the hell? All over there are questions downsizing Atheists, why?
Think of it this way, an atheist is babysitting, and a christian is babysitting, in both scenarios the baby gets out front and runs into the street.
The Atheist runs up and grabs the baby before anything hits it.
The Christan prays to god that the baby will be safe and that he won't get hurt, then tries to run out and save the baby....ooohhh..so close!

You're not going to win any over to your side of thinking without displaying some degree of trust in them. :P

Atheists don't want your kids around anyway... but you can trust them in showing you out of the delusion called religion.
