Hey little brother... first of all, just a little warning, the question you asked is indeed a good one, and as you no doubt know, jehovah's witnesses will know exactly where you are coming from on this, where as others will read the question and think ... huh?? this kind of thing is why many come up with bizzar assumptions about things we do and do not believe.

As an answer, listen to your conscience and what it is telling you. meditate on why you are feeling that, then be strong and make your stand. Remember, that it is Jehovah God whom you are serving not man, others may give advise but is their advice pleasing to god.

I'll give you a personal example. Growing up, i played the violin. Now we had a concert and it was held in a chappel. There was nothing to do with religious music or services, it was meerly a place the orchestra booked. I played in this concert

My cousin was married in a church, and this bothered me greatly, as to go would mean participating in a religious ceremony contradicting my beliefs and being said by a minister from another church.... to me this would have been interfaith, which we know God disapproves of, as we can not slave for two masters.

I know some however, who would not play music in a church, but would happily go to a wedding in one because it is "family responsibility".

In the end it is your choice... there is no rule... you have to think about it yourself and pray earnestly to jehovah to make the right decision and then stand by your decision.

A typical "8th grader" in the United States is 14 years old.

While Jehovah's Witnesses do not participate in so-called "interfaith" services, they do not have some superstitious aversion to entering or eating inside a church of another religion. However, if some activity bothers the conscience of a 14-year-old youth or his family head, then it would be wise to reconsider such participation.

The primary problem with JW's...too hung up on every little detail of their salvation instead of truly living by faith and Gods will. This is a clear sign of a false religion...rules that don't make any sense.

I am a Muslim and go to mosque on Friday in a Christian church because we don't have our own mosque yet...So What? God doesn't care where you have your eighth grade luncheon...he does care about how you treat your friends and teachers while you are there.

What?
What is wrong with having a luncheon at a church first of all?
Why is this only to Jehovah's Witnesses? Because they think it is wrong to have a luncheon at a church?

Sorry. I'm not a Jehovah Witness. But, I'm curious.

Do you think it is wrong to go to a luncheon or to go in a church? Or do you just think it's wrong to have lunch in a church?
