Yes, I believe this topic and many others should be preached about more and more. Too many churches are preaching "feel good" messages so as not drive people away.

Ever since the sexual revolution Western society has been teaching children (through television, movies, and music) that sex without pregnancy is one of the highest goods. The truth of course is that God is the highest good, but before someone can realize this they must eliminate all the false idols that block their vision of God. Sex, money, ambition, and pride act like blindfolds that prevent us from seeing the beauty and transcendence of God. The Christian churches therefore do have a responsibility to try to dethrone these false idols in the souls of the faithful. What is more important than bringing people into touch with the living God?

Could you define fornication a little more clearly, if I'm going to be against it I need to know what it is I'm supposed to be against.
You seem to think fornication includes having babies, abortion and robbing and killing people...at least you are attempting to make a spurious connection between all these things and fornication.
FORNICATION is consensual sex between two persons who are not married to each other, to me this doesn't sound so bad as ADULTERY which is when a married person fornicates extramaritally and has sex with somebody other than the person they are married to.

There is some logic in what you say, but I would be glad my son did not shoot anyone if he held up a bank, or get shot himself. If I knew my son was "fornicating", I would be much more worried about him getting a deadly STD, than becoming a father to a bastard. Seriously, I would prefer neither, but a lesser evil is always preferable to a greater one.

Wow, what a dim view you have of children who were conceived "accidentally." I hope you don't have an out-of-wedlock grandchild, because I know so well what it's like to have a grandmother who seemed to hate me even at my cutest and most innocent.
From what I see, conservative Christians are obsessed with the pelvic issues, and the ones who are less obsessed get rebuffed if they mention that some people don't have enough to eat and the weather seems to be getting weirder.
So you can talk about "fornication" all you want. I'd rather see a world of happy, productive fornicators than lemon-faces who have nothing to be proud of besides the fact that they kept their legs shut.
Sorry to be harsh, but you did ask.

It seems to me that the God being taught about today is made less holy than ever before in our churches. We've taken the liberty of our Christian walk and given ourselves the right to sin. Remember Paul saying Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? I get the sense that is exactly what we're doing today. Fornication just happens to be one of the biggest problems among many. And it has brought more physical pain than we'd ever thought it could. Look at the STD's and abortion. It's out of control.
We now wink at sin. I don't know how this has come about. Maybe we're trying to water down the scripture because they want bigger churches. Maybe we've taken the "judge not" doctrine too far. Who knows.

No, I don't believe so. God gives each soul different experiences in each lifetime in order to learn lessons. Having children out of wedlock is a needed experience for some. There are FAR more topics that cause harm to society besides fornication. Christianity seems most concerned with fornication.
Relax.

No I enjoy fornication very much and don't believe anyone has any business preaching against it at all. I don't like to call it fornication though. Sex is a very pleasurable thing which 95% of people enjoy before marriage so why make a sin out of it. Now getting pregnant out of wed lock and getting disease is what should be preached about. Tell your adolescent son/children how to use a condom... it will safe you some big money... ;-)
Fornication or ludic sex conceived from love sticks the couple more together, even if they're not married or don't plan to have children... any extremism such as having orgies everyday or the other pole, saving sex just for having children under the shade of marriage are options I don't consider as totally healthy... just an opinion... :-D

Preaching against anything only makes people want it more. If you passed a law that all teenagers MUST have sex and have a baby by the age of 14 youd probably see more of them abstaining out of sheer terror of the thought.
