ok, here we go. i have shared this theory with many people over the years, and am yet to find anyone who can disagree with me. I developed this theory through nothing more than observation and simple logic.
Think of our planet as an engine, like that in a car.
A car engine requires oil to lubricate the moving parts, to reduce friction and over-heating.
Our planet has, at its centre, a large ball of molten lava, spinning in one direction. Directly outside this layer is the mantle, another layer spinning in the opposite direction. Is it possible to deduce that energy is being created by this simple fact? i believe so.
Outside of this layer, is a river of oil, surrounding the hot "moving parts" of the earth's engine. Is it also possible to deduce that this oil is helping to lubricate and cool the inner engine of our planet? once again, yes, i believe so.
Now, let's get back to the topic, global warming is a load of bs... possibly so, yes, but what about simple planet warming?
My personal belief, and people please feel free to tell me how i'm wrong here, i would love some feedback, is that as we remove the oil, the centre of our planet is indeed getting hotter, friction is beginning to cause the core and mantle to overheat.
A car engine that runs out of oil, over-heats, and cracks. Yet if u leave the car to cool for a day, and then remove the sump plug, a small amount of oil will still come out.
In the year 2001, at a scientific gathering it was announced that if we continue to consume oil at the current rates worldwide that we saw then, there would be enough oil to suffice the planets needs for approximately 50 more years, provided, and this is very important, provided that war did not break out. within a year, war broke out and continues until this very day. During wartimes, we consume a much greater amount of oil.
Now consider what has been happening over the past 5-10 years, in terms of volcanic activity, coral bleaching, earthquakes, etc.
It is obvious to me that something serious is happening. All this talk and debate over global warming is in relation to the earth's atmosphere heating up, but what about the possibilty that the earth itself is actually heating up from the inside, with no influence whatsoever from greenhouse gases.
The earth's temperature is rising, dramatically, water temperature's are rising, the polar caps are melting, in fact melting so fast that it was announced only 3 weeks ago that all prior predictions on the melting or the ice caps were so wrong, and the realistic time frame is actually 2020 ! not 2070-90, but a mere 13 yrs from now the ice caps will be gone, and the ocean levels shall rise by between 5-7 metres.
So, in summary i guess i would agree with the question, yes i think that global warming is bs, when it is referenced to green house gases and the heating of the earth's atmosphere. But i think it is a very scary fact and reality of our generation in terms of the inner heating of our planet and the rising of our ocean levels once those polar caps are gone.
What can be done to fix it? nothing, its way too late to stop taking the oil, and think of the car engine that cracked one day after it cooled down... there was still a little oil left, and people... there is still a little oil left.
Take a look around you, apply a little logic, and live life like there may not be a tomorrow, you just don't know what is around the corner. I mean seriously, i am no scientist or politician, but still to this day, i have never heard my theory sprouting from anywhere but my own mouth. It seems pretty simple and logical doesn't it?!
How CAN people be so stupid?

Global warming is a natural phenomenon that occurs over centuries and millenia. But we are now seeing what would normally take hundreds of years happen in a matter of a few decades.
Many GW skeptics are myopic enough to believe that man cannot possibly disrupt the balance of nature because the earth is so big.
Yet, when industry and cars are spewing up hundreds of billions of tons of heat trapping gases, and the earth's forests (the earth's primary means for natural carbon sequestration) are being clearcut at an alarming rate, it's not out of the realm of logic to assume that man is accelerating (and even exacerbating) a natural cycle.

Everyone is ignorant about something. Me, I know nothing about cars. I used this analogy before, if a mechanic tells me something is wrong with my car, I am going to believe him. And why? Because I don't know any better. Millions of women have this happen to them, yet women are not called stupid, it's just a wel known fact that most of us don't know diddly squat about how our cars work.
Much like many Americans with global warming. They depend on other people, 'experts', to address these issues and they trust their judgement-because that's all they can do. Sure, they could research it, but there are so many things going on in the world right now, it's impossible to know everything about everything.
So instead of calling people stupid, we should be informing people of the things that they may not know when it comes to global warming. I agree that we aren't causing it. I have done my homework, it has happened before. It's happening on another planet too right now. I just wish people would realize it's not preventing it that we need to worry about, it's preparing for it that we should be focusing on!

How can you be so dumb!!!!!! this is a serious issue, look around you can see it just in the everyday!!!!! And where do you claim to have your proof that it isn't happening? Let me guess it would be too "inconvenient" to change how you live!!! So you can't drive your Precious SUV everywhere!!! even if humans are not speeding up the process of Global Warming as much as they say, a few simple changes in how one lives will help the earth on so many other levels... it would be nice to have a good world for our children!!!!!

Ok, stuip huh? Australia has been in a drought for the past 10 years. My 10 year old doesn't know what it's like to run under the sprinkler on the lawn like I did as a kid. New level water restrictions have just come into effect and we face strong penalties if caught breaking them.
It's just a shame that it took such a drastic wake up call for us to realise our wasteful ways.
It is ignorant to believe that with all our pollution and waste that we are not impacting on the earth in an incredibly negative way. If something doesn't change soon there'll be nothing left to save.

Take a look around. Haven't you seen how the weather patterns have changed? Have you ever seen the sky without a grey lining for a whole week? I haven't. I want to see everything clear and clean. I am not stupid. I don't like having super hot days! Thanks to global warming, the eastern and western coasts of our country are going to flood. It's not BS. It's happening right NOW!!!

so stupid? what about your ignorant a&&?how could you not tell the earth is warming ? I remember when i was a kid, we used to get horrible snow storms, havent seen one of those in a few years now. what about the mild winters we have had for the last 8 or 9 years? warmer temps all around , it is even getting warmer in the summer.
I suppose you are thinking of the odd temps we have all had this spring, low temps late freezes killing all the apple trees. well this is just more proof that we have screwed this planet up so bad that it doesnt know what season it should be in any more !

Well obviously you are ignorant if you even know the definition of the word...Well if you know the facts (which I do I just finished a college course on it) then you would probably believe it yourself...I am guessing you don't even know what causes global warming.....

Come over to Australia we are in the middle of the worst drought ever it is now in the middle of winter and still no rain when we use to have at least 4 weeks of it by now.
So the only people that are stupid are the ones that don't do anything and leave the problem for our children and grandchildren.

global warming is a fact. We went years without a major hurricane, look at what katrina did to mississippi and don't forget rita that came shortly after, the gulf waters have never been hotter, I am so not looking forward to another hurricane season
