You can't recognize a "godly" person. That's like trying to recognize someone that has AIDS. Maybe if you start talking them, then you can base your own conclusion on what you think godly is, and if whether or not they fall into that category.

Oh don't hate your self!
Look at their actions. The Bible says that Faith without works is useless. So a godly person's actions would line up with their beliefs.
Another verse says this about Christians, that they will be known their love. Are they helping those less fortunate? Feeding the poor, visiting widows and orphans in their distress, visiting the sick etc...
We are told over and over in the Bible to love God and to love our neighbor as our self, to treat others the way we want to be treated. Also a godly person would be humble and put others before themselves and not brag about being godly!

A Godly person is one that sees every ones suffering as though it was there own.
A Godly person is one that sees every ones hunger as though it was there own.
A Godly person is one that respects and sees every ones heart as though it was there own.
A Godly person cleans the faults from within their own heart and finds no faults within the hearts of others.
A Godly person is very difficult to find in the world today!

Usually you cannot but, I once read an interesting story about how Satan and his minions could copy just about anything in the religious world and all kind of virtues but, the one thing he could not bring himself to emulate was humility. I would say then that you may be able to get a pretty good idea by someones humility and I mean True humility which is just the Truth of something.

There are several types.
God Fearing are the ones who can't understand why other's don't worship god based on fear of being wrong and going to hell.
Jesus Crispies are the ones who are on fire with the love of God. They are so in Love with God that they feel you need to know it. No conversation with them can be complete with out a mention of his name or works.
God Loving ones are quiet and are still contemplating all that it means to love god. They are looking to deepen their faith by truly understanding his word and involving themselves in his work. They are at peace with themselves and the world around them, They understand that what is basically important is God, Family and Ourselves.
That is the best description for Christian Godly people.
If you allow other faiths to file in.
The regardless of the Faith they are completely willing to accept their version of God and your version. Their faith is something they seek to deepen and understand. If you express an interest they share it with you and enjoy the conversation. They are at peace with themselves and the world around them, They understand that what is basically important is God, Family and Ourselves.
That is how I recognize a Godly person

It is hard to reckonize a Godily person with out putting judgement into play...don't take that the wrong way bc i av talked to peopl that there was something about them and i would ask ..Are you a Deacon or something in church and they would say heck nah i never go to church. Actions of a person really don't count bc on a bad day a Bishop may not seem at alll Godliy as well as words coming out of ther mouth bc againon a bad day in stead of speeching positive about God we could be upset with himor shy or afraid
Gift or fruits is kinda of hard to bc aperson couldbeen like JOB going through a test by God and losing everything but later God will restore them back ten folds but wen u meeant them and they show no fruits or blessings in ther life you think the worst
To me the best way is ...wat they claim ..if you ask are you save or are u Godily and they say Yes then that is wat we have to take them at there word the rest ,wat we think does not matter it is between them and God

You see, it doesn't matter if they say "Hail master" and greet you with a kiss, they will eventually act like the Devil.

The bible says we will know them by their fruits. In other words, you can tell someone is a "godly" person by the way they act and talk.

People are always "peoply" people when you get to know them, full of human foibles and not Godly at all.
