I don't drive...honestly I don't have a DL....When I was told that I would have to do some driving..I lied and told the manager that it is expired and I haven't renewed it because I don't drive...because I was in a car accident...now he is asking me about it again...I'm not sure ifI should tell him the truth and risk losing my job...But the job description did not say anything about driving and I did not apply to be a driver either!!! This info was NOT given to me untill my first day on the job...What should I do?? CAN THEY DO THIS???

It's pretty weird that, if driving is a part of your job, they never mentioned it in the interview process. But that said, yes, an employer can change job duties of an employee. Lying to them wasn't smart. Unless you can get a license quickly, you might as well 'fess up. If they fire you, well, then, look for another job - and be truthful with your employer.

Honestly, you shouldn't have lied about it in the first place. But that's done and over with. Either get your permit/license ASAP or tell your employer the truth. Also tell them you were not aware of any required driving when you applied.

Tell them the truth. Of course they may have found out by now, since all they have to do is run your SSN through the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Tell them the truth. If you lose the job, then you can go about quickly looking for another.

Buck up and go get your license. its part of the reality of life in todays world. You shouldn't have lied to your boss... if you had told the truth at the beginning there'd be no problems, seeing as there was no mention of it before you started.

You just started a job and lied already??
When you start your NEXT job, don't lie.
Unless you can pull off a miracle, your credibility is down the drain.
