Your head will obviously hurt for a few days, depending on how you hit your head. The fact that you have not described any other symptoms lessens the chance of a concussion.

A concussion is basically when your actual BRAIN has sustained bruising due to inertia or shock motion.
For the first few days, a concussion will result in anything from dizziness, to unusual loss of balance, whereas weeks later you could suffer from irritability, mood swings, inability to concentrate.

If you experience of the above symptoms, you should see a doctor (and do not let yourself oversleep.)

A blow to the back of the head is the most likely impact to cause a concussion. When I got a concussion from falling on the back of my head, a severe headache came on within seconds. It lasted about a week. Is the pain localized, meaning at the point of impact? If so, it may just be a bruise. If your head hurts all over, it may be a concussion. If your vision is funny, it's probably a concussion. Because it is a head injury, your own judgment is suspect. Talk it over with a coach, athletic trainer or parent. You should err on the side of caution and assume that it is a concussion until proven otherwise. Do not engage in any sports until the pain is completely gone. You should probably see a doctor.

That's OK. It usually hurts for a week or so. Same happened when I hit my had on the bottom of my table while retrieving a fallen pen.

Symptoms of concussions include vomiting, confusion, visual disturbances and unconsciousness for half an hour.

See a doctor.
