Just tell him. You will be tested more often than normal for the infraction, but if you continue to have THC in your system for longer than normal, you go to jail.

Better to be up front with your probation officer right from the start. Admit you have a substance abuse problem if that is the case. Or admit that you simply made a bad decision to use marijuana in the recent past.
One marijuana violation is probably not going to result in your P.O. seeking revocation of your probation. Just too many people in jail/prison already. P.O. knows you have a problem, or you wouldn't have been convicted of an offense and put on his/her caseload.
But if you conceal the information from your P.O. and he/she finds out anyway, then you are toast. Go directly to jail, do not pass Go. If the P.O. learns you will lie, then the P.O. will report to the Court that you cannot be trusted on probation. (And almost every probation in America allows the P.O. to drug test you, even without your consent.)

Don't tell him, unless he hands you a cup to fill. If you get by this time, stop being stupid, at least while you are on probation. You'll only wind up back in the slams.

How about " Gee Boss, I screwed up."
Most PO's will give a slap on the wrist for the fisrt offense. However it also will depend on why you have probation to begin with.

Just be honest and up front, they will usually let you slide the first time . You will probably have to drop urine and they will check the levels to see if your #s go down next month. it can take up to 6 weeks or more for the levels to reach zero. as long as they see the #s dropping you should be fine.Whatever you do don't start out by lying to them, you will start out with one foot on the violation line. good luck!

Depending what state you live in. You emmediately obtain a Medical Pot Card, along with a Medical Prescription. That way you are protected.

I would say that if your probation officer doesn't say anything about a drug test, don't say anything yourself. You might get yourself into more trouble by telling him/her, maybe even jail time.

in the eyes of the regulation probation is a privilege no longer a top, as such you settle to obey each and every of the PO orders, failure to stick to such regulations equates to revocation of the probation and return to lockup to serve something of it sluggish

Just tell him.
Then put your hands behind your back and wait for the cuffs.
