Well to start it off, im a MAJOR theater buff. I love to act and this is my passion, and hopefully will one day be my profession. But anyways, im 15 years old and pretty talented at musical theater. So a local company is the first person EVER IN THE WORLD to do the popular rock opera RENT, and the only way i can do Rent, is if i skip a family cruise to the eastern caribbean. I decided to do Rent. Do you think this was the correct decision?

Also Jonathan Larsons family will be down here, broadway talent scouts, and Also MTI executives. And i meant that were the first ones to ever do it not on broadway, the first to do the school edition.

I do think you made the right decision.

Like Kaisergirl, I'm proud of your family for letting you make this decision on your own. I think it shows respect for your judgement, your enthusiasm and your abilities to set your priorities straight and make difficult choices.

I'm an actress and have faced similar problems like this my whole life. I find that when I made a decision that eliminated an acting opportunity, I tended to both regret it and remember the sting of the lost opportunity long after the excitment of the event had passed.

For example, I missed an offer of a great part because they called the day I left for an 11 day European vacation and by the time I landed, got over my jet lag, and checked my messages - several days later - they'd already assumed I wasn't interested and offered the part to someone else. That was years ago and I still remember how my heart broke when I listened to that message.

I'm not sure if you are already in the show, or are hoping to be; either way, you've made a difficult decision, and you will learn a strong lesson from your choice about what's important to you. I hope you enjoy the experience.

Definately. It'll be hard to have to stay at home while your family goes on a cruise, but obviously it's very important to you. They both sound like a lot of fun; If I were you, I'd stay and do your theatre. You won't get that opportunity again, and it sounds like the perfect opportunity to get noticed...

Good luck! I hope it all goes well.

Well those memories with your family will be lost forever, but KUDOS to them for letting you make the decision for yourself. I only pray you already have the part and didnt make this decision based on hoping you are in the production!
