Sure...if it were readily available....
And, especially if I MOVED to Mexico or South America, I would do everything in my power and learn everything possible about the people, their language, and customs to best assimilate into their society....

I for one am not a xenophobe.
As with all phobias, a xenophobic person is aware of the fear, and therefore has to believe at some level that the target is in fact a foreigner.
For xenophobia there are two main objects of the phobia. The first is a population group present within a society, which is not considered part of that society. Often they are recent immigrants, but xenophobia may be directed against a group which has been present for centuries. This form of xenophobia can elicit or facilitate hostile and violent reactions, such as mass expulsion of immigrants, or in the worst case, genocide.
The second form of xenophobia is primarily cultural, and the objects of the phobia are cultural elements which are considered alien. All cultures are subject to external influences, but cultural xenophobia is often narrowly directed, for instance at foreign loan words in a national language. It rarely leads to aggression against individuals but can result in political campaigns for cultural or linguistic purification.
I embrace the diversity and uniqueness of many cultures.
However I DO take exception when it comes to LEGAL versus ILLEGAL.
Anyone who immigrates to the US LEGALLY and positively contributes to this society should be commended.
THIS appears to be the REAL heart of your question, LEGAL versus ILLEGAL not xenophobia. You think illegals are being discriminated against because they are foreigners.
I don't think so. I think most US citizens AND Legal Permanent Residents, or even legal non-residents are concerned about the illegal way illegal aliens are infiltrating or even bilking the tax paying population the US - not about their culture.
I like Mexican and South American culture. I enjoy MANY cultures!
I don't approve of an easy in to the US for illegals however.

I don't know anyone that is xenophobic. In fact Many folks love both Mexicans and South Americans.
The problem are the criminals who think they can sneak over the borders, steal identities and do as they please.
May I respectfully suggest that Mexicans and South Americans considering coming to America illegally learn more about the laws and why the red carpet is NOT rolled out for criminals?

How about this: are the illegal Mexicans willing to learn more about the United States' culture or language to better assimilate into our society? Answer, no, they don't want to become Americans. They want to be Mexicans that live in America, with all the rights and privileges that are granted to true Americans.
Why should Americans have to learn about foreigners' languages and customs? So we can better accommodate them, since they're too good to learn ours?

I think if you do, you will become more xenophobic....
Seriously, I don't care where someone is from, if their first act upon coming to the U.S. is to break a law they are criminals. And around here they continue to ignore our laws, zoning laws limiting the number of unrelated persons living in a dwelling, motor vehicle laws requiring car insurance, laws that require us to pay taxes, and the list goes on.
If anyone needs to learn anything it's them - they need to learn the meaning of laws.

No, I know enough about them. I was married to a girl from El Salvador for 8 years. I hung out with latino friends for years. I know that most of them drink, drive drunk, many use and sell cocaine and other drugs, most take advantage of our system. NO AMNESTY! I want them all deported.

No. If they are here illegally they are law breakers just like bank robbers or car thieve, if they are here legally then I don’t have a problem with them.

No. After hearing all this crap spewed by the racist invaders, I couldn't care less about their so-called "culture."
