i am working on a project to create an induction coil and i need a supply of copper wire, insulated thast is. Does anyone know of a good supplier for insulated copper wire? About 100ft of wire on a spool..more or less. Does snyone know of a locsl supplier in Arizona? Thanks for any help.

When you say "insulated", I'm guessing you really want "enameled" since various plastic coatings are likely to create too much winding spacing and hold too much heat.

Believe it or not, Radio Shack still stocks magnet wire in their stores. If you don't plan to drive too much current (their 200ft roll is only 30 gauge, and the rest are shorter lengths), one of these might be just what the doc ordered.

If not, one of the more famous and longstanding is Belden.

They've got pretty much anything you could ask for.
In Arizona, you can check Belden's site to see who's closest to your location. Note: these are distributors, and may not sell retail, but if not, can put you on to the right folks.
