My main complaint is when I ask a question regarding facts that I know, and the majority of the responses are "you obviously have never read the bible" or "the Tanakh is not the original bible" or "there are no contradictions between the New and Old Testements, you are taking the scripture out of context" and my personal favorite "the Jew used to be God's favorite, but since they didn't believe in Jesus they aren't anymore" and "we don't have to live by the laws of the Old Testament because Jesus fullfilled the law, even though he says they will stand until heaven and earth pass away."

Just because I don't believe it doesn't mean that I don't know it or find it interesting. Often times, I see the effects of religion on my society and others, such as yours, and feel that if everyone knew the actual true as it happend here on earth roots of their beliefs, instead of just believing, then they would realize that the faith they practice is less important than the life the live. Religion causes separation of a collective us into a good 'us' and a bad 'them.' This is never good for the mutual harmony of all.

As for knowing a lot about paganism, why should we limit ourselves to any particular religion? If we want to know the roots of the religions that are prevalent in our society, we actually have to look at all of the influences that went into making that religion. That includes all of the ideas, philosophies, and religions of the area that were around before the formation of said religions. If we limit ourselves just to that particular religion itself, then we really haven't done any research, now have we?

Gosh I sure hope you feel better after your little rant.
As a pagan, I certainly do know a lot about my culture, and it has nothing to do with the devil. That's a christian concept, thanks. I realize that the jewish people see the christians as pagans, but the christians don't see that in themselves. A little education on their beliefs would go a long way toward you actually being taken seriously. Spell check and a grammar course would also be a requisite.

I know a lot about pagans because I used to be one. Also, about the energy thing.... the energy from your body is transfered to the "worms" that eat you. From there it moves all of the way up the food chain until it gets back to us. Then the cycle starts over. The energy doesn't fly off into another dimension!

Yes, we are all energy and even when we are dead and getting "eaten by worms," our energy is being transferred to the worms, to the soil, to the roots of plants, to the air we breath, into your lungs, into my lungs, into the lungs of this dead cow I'm eating, and back into the ground. Just because I'm an atheist doesn't mean I don't think I have a purpose or that life goes on when I'm gone. And I don't get offended that easily, but sometimes arguing with a theist is frustrating, just like for you arguing with an atheist is frustrating. Just learn to enjoy the argument. Einstein was an atheist.

um... no i dont know anything about pagans. at least not the "devil obsession" part.

but paganism is a really broad term. it's not hard for me to think my loved ones would just be eaten by worms

"energy never dies" i dont think that's a 100% sure. science may discover something new, but the worms analogy doesnt really contradict that theory. worm eat us and convert our nourishment into their energy.

I don't believe in religion, but your belief in it does not offend me in the slightest.

Atheists believe the devil is mythology, and they do not have "pagan cultures". Atheists tend to be highly educated in comparison to Theists, so it should not surprise you that they are more familiar with religion than the theists.

YES AND THAT ENERGY COULD BE REFERTILIZING THE EARTH. I AGREE THAT PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT, AND THEY DO. WE LIVE IN THE USA AND WE HAVE THAT FREEDOM. I KNOW QUITE A FEW CHRISTIANS WHO ARE JUST AS EASILY OFFENDED WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO LET THEM KNOW SOMEHTHING NEW OR SOMETHING THEY'VE NEVER THOUGHT OF. LOT'S OF PEOPLE ARE EASILY OFFENDED. FROM YOUR QUESTION HERE, YOU LOOK PRETTY OFFENEDED. I'M OFFENDED WHEN PEOPLE BELIEVE SOMETHING BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM FEEL GOOD INSIDE, NOT NECESSARILY BECAUSE THAT'S THE TRUTH. YOU SAID IT YOURSELF IN YOUR QUESTION, "it makes me feel comfortable knowing my loved ones are in another dimension" DOES THAT MEAN THEY'RE REALLY THERE OR ARE YOU PICTURING THEM THERE BECAUSE YOU NEED TO?

Elizabeth, we live in a time where people look for reasons to be offended. It puts them into a position of power. When they say they are offended, we, the normal ones, feel sorry that we have offended. This gives them the upper hand socially and in conversation.

To those that are so easily offended, get over it.

Just because someone knows alot of stuff about pagan rituals and holidays, doesn't mean anything. Same goes with christian holidays and god and jesus. Just because someone knows something about it, doesn't mean they believe in it.
