ok I have chosen the song "I loved her First" By Heartland to dance to with my Daddy, I would like something to dance with my stepfather to that will not make my dad feel out done, but that will allow my stepfather to know that I love him to! Please help me if you have any suggestions!

This may not "fit" for you - - but take a look at...

Title: Stepfather of the Bride (for Erin)
Words & Music By: Michael J. McLaughlin
c2005 MJM * MIKEMCL@USA.NET

VERSE 1
I remember when I met you; you looked like you could be mine
With your red hair and freckles; maybe it was a sign.
I fell in love with your mama and you came along for the ride.
Now you're getting married, I'm the stepfather of the bride.

VERSE 2
I couldn't replace your daddy, and I wouldn't want to try
The one who you relied on all the way to junior high
He was your mamma's man when he gave you life, he should be at your side
It isn't always easy for the stepfather of the bride

CHORUS:
I was there as you grew, but can't walk you down the aisle
After all we've been through, Can I dance with you for a while?
I know I'm not your daddy; but today I'm filled with pride
Smiling ear to ear, I'm the stepfather of the bride

VERSE 3
There were many times we argued, not seeing eye to eye
I tried to raise you up right, sometimes I made you cry.
But you touched my heart so many times that now I must confide
I love you like a daughter; I'm the stepfather of the bride.

REPEAT CHORUS

It might just work.

Most importantly - you seem to be a bride who is considering everyone's feelings. Good for you!!!

Without knowing if your natural father is involved, it's kind of tough to come up w/ a song. But maybe (instead) you could give a short speech about how much he means to you, cite an example or two of something you remember he did for you/shared activity/funny story, etc. You could also ask him what his favorite dance song is (or have someone else ask him) and dance to his choice.

Van Morrison (or any of the handful of artists who sang it)- Someone Like You

"Dance With My father" is about a dead parent - might not be appropriate, really.

If your step-father was very involved with your upbringing butterfly kisses is a great song. I can't think of who sings it now, but maybe the suggestion will help!!

How about "He Didn't Have To Be" by Brad Paisley? It's sung from a man's perspective, but is a great story about how we love and need our step-parents.

Well. I have no idea cause no two persons like the same song stuff. But I will recomend a slow song. Very semtimental and make it a bit romantic. Try that one song the one that goes " whoa, my darlin, I have hungered for your touch. Of love. Lonley times........" God I love that one.
